I do everything on GIMP-1.2. You may need to get more plug-ins installed for GIMP.The plug-ins I use most frequently are Random Blends, Polar Coords, Split Mirror and Map To Gradient. I've also made more Custom Gradients so that they number well over 300. I hope that helps

Thank you, it's actually why I run this older version of Linux. Because I have a collection of neatly 300 custom gradients. So the Random Blends Filter at 45-85 blends; makes so truly awesome renders and effects. Have you made any custom gradients?

Do you have a gradients folder in /home/you/.gimp-(version #)/gradients ? If so I can email one to you. You add it into that folder and it should work. Gimp is a hidden directory, so you need the dot in fron of it.

You've never used a gradient? Create a new image (say 1024x768) white background color to start. And play with the Gragients tool on the main window. A square that changes from light to dark, and you can double click on that for more options too. Have fun! palyaround, make a few atempts. Go Gurl

Yeah.. I think I know the gradients (abstract 1,2,3, Aneurism, Blinds..).. but I simply can't understand how to use them.. I have tried many times.. I feel myself so dumb..

Really? Try this. Start GIMP. Main Window click on File..Select "New" choose a resolution size like 1024x768. and ckick "Ok"When you hve this new working window; find the gradient tool on the GIMP window. For Blend, choose "Custom Gradient" Next, for Gradient choose Bi-Liner to start with Bi-Linear. Click okay then double click on the strip of colors (the gradient selection) Choose a Custom Gradient. Then drag the pionter around on the screen. TELL me what what happens please?

I commented on one person's picture one time, and instead of taking it as a bit of advice, they said I came accross as a know-it-all and got deeply offended. I wound up having to apologize and accept the blame, when really what I came to realize was. They were very narrow minded and just can't take critiszim. Compliments yes, critiszm no. So I'm careful know of what I say and how I come accross.
I know that the 4th of July is very important to most americans, and I wanted to make to make you smile.

Okay then, I will. I'm trying my hand at some creative writing for the first time in my life. The time seems right for it and I seem to be finding my way along without too many snags. I was never much into writing before. Reading yes, but writing? I didn't think I had it in me. I've only got 6 pages written so far, but an increadible story is starting to unfold. That's all I'll say about that.
