You're very good at talking a lot but not saying anything, by the way.

r3s3nt In reply to Soldier4Bush [2004-11-13 19:22:50 +0000 UTC]

You're so precious! Everything you say just brightens my day.

To begin with; I am a Trotskyist. I suppose that's comprable to a Marxist-Leninist, but a Trotskyist doesn't believe in the vanguard, hence why Leon Trotsky was exiled from the USSR and later assassinated by the KGB.

Next, should I be over it? I mean, let's get real, I'm not some pseudo-liberal. When Bush wins re-election I'm not about to say, "Well, there goes that. We lost the election, better stop caring about politics, policy, and government." That would be stupid. It would be hypocritical. Just because he won the election doesn't mean I think he's right. Unlike most people, I don't much mind who wins the elections, rather I mind what they do once in office. I'd probably have a certain level of discontent if Kerry had won. If Kerry won, I wouldn't say, "Well, we won, I guess I can stop caring." That would also be stupid. I'm going to be the same person no matter who wins the election.

Third, you're wrong; it's not about what America sees, rather, it's about what America doesn't see. I'm not terribly surprised over it. In fact, it's no less than I expected. America is full of people, like you, who love to agree blindly with leaders no matter what the facts. And the fact is, you still haven't stated a single fact to me, all your comments have been about Michael Moore being stupid, or the liberal media, or something along those lines. I never expressed any solidarity with these so-called "liberal" forces. Firstly, I don't find the media to be left-leaning at all, moreover idle, which suits whoever happens to be in office. They don't do their job. If Kerry was president or if Bush were president, the job of the media is to pry and find the dirt (which I can gurantee you is there, no matter who is in charge), and they just don't do it.

As for me and Michael Moore... I never said I liked or agreed with Michael Moore on anything. I do agree with him more often than not, but I try not to make my opinions of his wooing. What I mean is, Michael Moore plays to an expressedly liberal crowd. Most of them don't have preconcieved notions of politics, but tend to lean a bit left. He preaches to the choir. The choir being a bunch of these Hollywood liberals you're talking about. Coffeshop revolutionary pseudo-intellectuals. If you catch my drift, I'm expressing a level of malcontent for the "Hollywood Liberal" or what I call the "Limousine Liberal." This is not to say that you can't be rich and liberal, that doing so is some kind of hypocrisy, but it is to say that you cannot be self-indulgent and liberal. It's disgusting. For that reason, your allegations of me being along with Mr. Moore and the rest of Hollywood, are entirely unfounded. Don't be so prejiduce to think that all liberals are the same.

Finally, on Hollywood, perhaps I can say a few names: Ronald Regan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Walt Disney, Clint Eastwood... Ron Silver... the idea that all of an industry, that is as diverse as Hollywood, is silly. Granted, it is considered awkward in most of Hollywood for actors and actresses to be conservative, but there is the occasional alternative. And you must consider the studio executives that are often right-leaning.

I don't understand you, really. You are so overtly partisan that you can't see the forrest from the trees. You act like all liberals lie and all conservatives are saints. You are unable to state one fact, yet you accuse me of stating none. You counter Michael Moore with right-wing sensationalists like Rush Limbaugh and the likes. The hypocrisy is protruding.

What accusations? I didn't make any accusations except that you were making unfounded assumptions about me, which you were... I never called you an idiot... you are... but it's certainly not for supporting Bush. It's for being... willingly ignorant. I have yet to see you state one fact. Let me know when it happens.

By the way, son, I know the media lies. If the media told the truth, Bushy woulda been impeached.

Gets funnier by the moment. You need to lay your hands off of the assumptions, kid. You have no idea who you're talking to, so don't think you do... it makes you come off as stupid when you're wrong.

I get my numbers at the U.S. Department of Labor, at least the specific ones you are referring to. Whatever information you're referring to, it usually comes from the encyclopedia, that's my main source. I browse government publications. Then there's always the New York Times, occasionally the Washington Post, Newsweek, a lot of independent media sources, sometimes foreign media. I like the BBC, the London Guardian, the Economist, the Independent, and al-Jazeer. Where do you get your information? Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reily, Sean Hannity, Joe Scarborough, Robert Novak, Anne Coulter, and Pat Buchannan? Oh, I forget, you probably hate Pat Buchannan, seeing as he has a certain discontent for your budy Bush.

I think my friend Andrei has a good 4-point plan for you. You should shoot yourself in the foot while it's still in your mouth.

That is almost comical. Scratch that, it is comical.

You're 18. Or at least you claim to be. I don't know whether or not your aware of that. That's a difference of two years.

Rush Limbaugh... well, by his own words, he should get the death penalty for abusing drugs, ("All drug abusers should get the death penalty." - 1993). More than that, here you have a guy who pulls numbers straight out of his ass and puts them right into his mouth. For instance, "80% of these 'unskilled' jobs the liberals are talking about are worked by people between the ages of 18 and 29. That is true." he said that earlier this year. Check the numbers and you find that, in actuallity, 60% of those jobs are worked by 18-29 year olds. Oh Rush, what will you come up with next? Despite his being a racist...

The funniest thing about this comment is the public school remark... since I DON'T go to a public school.

Liberals control the media... like, say, Rupert Murdoch? And man, GE sure is liberal. Robert Novak is a damn commie if I ever saw one. Half of talk radio is owned by Viacom, and is dominated by the right. Sinclair Broadcasting owns 62 TV stations. Viacom owns a good bit... Besides, objective reporting can't be right or left. If it reveals a bad side of the right, then it doesn't make the media biased, it makes the right bad. And how about the lead up to the War In Iraq, eh? Yeah, that media was so liberal. That's why so many have had to do something Bush could never do and apologize for misleading us with biased reports of the alleged 'stockpiles.' Christ, man, even the NY Times apologized for that.

I bet you didn't even read that. Probably couldn't make it past the second word.

Don't push me, man, 'cos I'm close to the edge, and I'll jump off with a rope that's tied around your neck.

How about this everyone. If Bush is serious about all these wars, then let him go out there and be poart of it, and fight.
Oh, no, wait, he's the leader...
Same for Bin laden, Same for Blair. If they believe so much, let *them* go out and fight.
For that matter, let them walk down the streets of their own city unprotected... no, wait... because they have divided their own populus. Bush will win, there's no arguement, he didn't last time, he won't this time, but he will. We might as well just deal with the fact that he's signed you all down to Terrorist doom (as terrorists have no borders, and it only ever takes one to blow a hell of a lot of people up)
btw, i like your gallery, good work and some real food for thought

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

r3s3nt In reply to MegOctavius [2004-10-28 00:21:25 +0000 UTC]

No, that's not exactly what I was thinking. I was thinking more along the lines of, "Did I express an opinion?" The answer is no. At least not the way I see it. I state the objective reality. It's not an opinion that much of what Bush says is merely drivel, it is a fact. Love him or loathe him, he says a lot of stuff that simply doesn't make any sense. It is also not opinion that the American Patriot is rebellious, or a revolutionary, it's a fact. That's who the patriots were, or why else would they call it the Revolutionary War? I didn't even state an opinion about Bush, I simply said he makes less sense than Kerry. Kerry is far easier to follow than Bush is, and that's not really an opinion, either. The only way Bush would be easier to follow than Kerry would be if one was on a par mental level with the president and thought in the same non-linear fashion. I suppose that being the case could make it an opinion, but judging on the fact that there are no real realities, I can only go by the assumed definition of the words opinion and fact. If I do that then it is fact that Bush is less easy to follow by the accepted norms. But that's just my opinion on opinions, right?

~r3s3nt I wasn't trying to start something here okay it was you. I have to agree with ~kretel . What you said was an opinion. Like I said before, I am not trying to start something here. I respect you're not wanting to start anything and just wanting to get along, but that only makes me wonder more how in the world you can actually prefer Bush. Maybe you're just politically unaware, but I somehow doubt that. I'm going to go ahead and give you 0% responsibility for what I gauge as your short-comings. I don't blame you for them. It's the system. It gets to so many people. Tragic, really.

and one that quite a few people would disagree with.

r3s3nt In reply to kretel [2004-10-28 22:56:08 +0000 UTC]

I'm sorry, who invited you?

Now, I am sorry to be at a disagreement, but that's not exactly something I'm going to be able to change. See, maybe you're right about opinions, but the fact of the matter is, it doesn't matter how your brain functions chemically to realize that it is nonsensical for a person like Cheney, for instance, to call Iraq a "huge success story" (Oct. 27, 2004 NY Times). Its things like that that make the lack of sense in the Bush administration an issue with no opinion tied to it at all. They have lost touch with reality. They lost touch with reality years ago. They live in a seperate world. They aren't lying to us, lying is hiding the truth. They are doing something worse. They are telling half-lies. A person who tells half-lies has forgotten what the truth is. Something as absurd as Iraq being a huge success story is not an opinion no matter what you believe. I could believe in my heart of hearts that 1+1=6, but that doesn't make it so. I am reminded of 1984 in which Winston states something to the effect of "the Party could say that 5+3=9 and it would become true." The Bush administration is continually doing just that: saying whatever suits them politically, no matter how true or whether or not they actually believe it. How often I find it eerie the parrallels between this world and George Orwell's in 1984. And he wasn't off by 20 years, it's been continual for hundreds of years. The powers that be, the NWO goes along making up the rules and playing the game, doing whatever it takes to remain the powers that be, the Party, the World Controllers, the illuminati, whatever you want to call it. It's not only Bush or only the Republicans, of course, but I must say that the Bush administration has taken it to an unnacceptable extreme. That's where I stand, like it or not.

Oh yeah, who said I thought I could get away with it? Huh? Every heard of the art of provocation? Is it obnoxious? Probably. But how often do I mind being obnoxious towards Bush people?

"... it is nonsensical for a person like Cheney, for instance, to call Iraq a "huge success story" (Oct. 27, 2004 NY Times)."
Just to throw another idea in the mix, perhaps there's more sense to it than you think. I'm pretty sure we're in agreement on the .. fact .. that the Iraq war was a war of profit. The big question to any of these sort of things is, 'who is profiting?' So they say they started a war of "liberation", the liberation part goes awry, and yet we see the immense action and investment on planning and working other aspects of the situation (commericial gain, economic delegation, enough control over new Iraqi governmental actions, etc.). The protesters in the streets show democracy isn't the immediate concern. So why would it be a big success, Bush? All this planning and people chalk you up to just being "dumb"? Fuck that. The Bush Administration is not lacking technical skills. Corporate buddies are indeed being fed and laws are indeed being established to harness the resources Iraq has to offer. I know you've already thought about this. So who is "succeeding"? Someone is. In that sense, yes; it's a huge, bloody success story. 1984 even nicely brings serious attention to the consequences of writing any power off as ignorant or 'out of touch'. We can't give those in power too little credit. It'll kill us (I mean that figuratively, but what do I know...)

"They have lost touch with reality.
But, hey, that's ok; we've managed to create our own -- lock, stock, and bloody barrel.
