Well personally, both were done well in their respective animes. The first anime took a more backseat to the revelation that Mustang did, but it gave him a better motivation to become Fuhrer and change the ways of the country, and I would've liked to see a better look at Winry's reaction since we only saw glimpses.

Winry and Scar is probably the more emotional of the two, and it is pretty devastating to see Winry appear just as Ed is confronting Scar over his crimes. Plus, she doesn't directly forgive Scar, allowing him to "kidnap" her and then spends several days travelling in his company.

the mustang polpoint shouldve been handled better in my opinion; winry glares at him, runs off.......and thats it, mustang avoids the whole thing altogether, no one ever mentions it ever again in the series from what I heard. It can pretty much be filed off as filler

scar and winry on the other hand was treated with more effort, as it actually has impact on the plot, considering the fact that scar is arguably the main antagonist for most of the series, this allows for better pacing and better execution with how they handle this plotpoint.

In Episode 39, Mustang laments on his actions in front of Winry, Ed and Al, Hawkeye, Armstrong and his subordinates.

nah, I'll just find the rest of the episodes and probably do a review on it

though you cant deny, brotherhood's ending beat 03's ending by a country mile

Now that cannot be denied.

JohntheMagnificent In reply to Evilgidgit [2013-02-21 18:29:47 +0000 UTC]

03 started out better, but brotherhood had the superior ending

though one thing that makes me wonder about 03 is their questionable choice in staff. The head writer of this show is also known for such classics as M.D geist, doom megalopolis, genocyber, and angel cop...WHY'D THEY HIRE HIM ANYWAY?! He did a good job with FMA but with that kind of resume, it makes you wonder wy he wasnt on the streets by then

I expect she had faith in him. She knew the story would go in a different direction since she was barely halfway through the manga at the time the anime started. It was that popular.

When I review films, etc. the idea kind of springs into my head and I review it. I'll probably review Transformers 3 and some other Pokemon movies at some point.

what did you think of the newest indiana jones movie? If you say that it wasnt realistic I'm gonna laugh, WE'RE TALKING ABOUT FRIGGIN INDIANA JONES! You can allow a little leeway

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Evilgidgit In reply to JohntheMagnificent [2012-12-06 19:00:46 +0000 UTC]

As in Indiana Jones 4? Yeah, I enjoyed it. Good piece of fun. It annoys me that everyone whines about Indy survivng a nuke in a fridge, but considering half the stuff he has gotten up too, I have nothing to complain about.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JohntheMagnificent In reply to Evilgidgit [2012-12-06 21:34:52 +0000 UTC]

yeah, the nostalgia critic said it best "what, you guys get so worked up over him surviving a nuke yet him falling out of a plane with only a life raft to break his fall gets a free pass?!"

the mythbusters even proved that a fall like that would break every bone in your body! What more proff do those people need?!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Evilgidgit In reply to JohntheMagnificent [2012-12-07 12:23:25 +0000 UTC]

It makes no sense.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JohntheMagnificent In reply to Evilgidgit [2012-12-07 13:01:25 +0000 UTC]

and thats exactly what movies are! They're meant to make no sense but also be fun and exciting, these days everyone is to realistic and unwilling to stretch their imagination, and THAT is the death of cinema

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Evilgidgit In reply to JohntheMagnificent [2012-12-07 15:27:50 +0000 UTC]

I'd say the death of cinema is when people stop making good films.

you havent seen dragonball z? And you call yourself an anime fan? Even non anime fans have seen one or two episodes

Evilgidgit In reply to JohntheMagnificent [2012-11-16 14:28:49 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I've never watched Dragonball in my life aside from a couple of clips. And you don't have to watch Dragonball to be an anime fan. I've never watched Neon Genesis Evangelion either.

dbz holds the world record for being the most best selling manga in the world! It still holds that title today and in the 20 years its been around, only one piece has rivaled it in sales

with that in mind, you cant say your not curious

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Evilgidgit In reply to JohntheMagnificent [2012-11-16 20:40:05 +0000 UTC]

I am curious and maybe one day I will get around to watching the series.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JohntheMagnificent In reply to Evilgidgit [2012-11-16 20:43:56 +0000 UTC]

little word of warning though, first watch the original series, then watch the remake series called "dragonball z kai" trust me, the dub in kai is WAAAAYY better, you'll see what I mean

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Evilgidgit In reply to JohntheMagnificent [2012-11-16 21:10:11 +0000 UTC]

I have heard the original dub is a bit shaky. Though it created OVER 9000!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JohntheMagnificent In reply to Evilgidgit [2012-11-16 21:16:46 +0000 UTC]

yeah, that was a good move, and the ONLY thing in the english dub thats tolerable

its perplexing how much it sucks donkeyballs, it has a line up of some of the best anime actors of the time, so how did the dub fail so badly?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Evilgidgit In reply to JohntheMagnificent [2012-11-16 22:45:30 +0000 UTC]

Anime was a relatively new thing when the dubbing was done. I suspect the producers behind the dub were concerned with how much the audience would understand.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

JohntheMagnificent In reply to Evilgidgit [2012-12-12 20:44:25 +0000 UTC]

this show lasted until 2006, and the dub sucked all the way, you'd think they'd get better by the end of the series :/

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

JohntheMagnificent In reply to Evilgidgit [2012-11-16 23:01:46 +0000 UTC]

the shows creator, akira toriyama, also seems to have a temper when it comes to this, after the saga known as the cell saga, which was supposed to be the last arc of the series and is where dbz kai took its bow, fans raised an uproar out the wazoo, begging for more, the show was THAT good. The fans werent satisfied with the ending (goku dies, some big headed wrestler takes credit for his sacrifice and the z fighters are regarded around the world as being nothing more than con men) akira got so p.o'd with this that he created the next arc known as the saiyaman saga, the arc after that known as the buu saga, and his biggest flop called dragonball GT (avoid this show like the friggin plague) basically saying "hey, you dont like how I ended this? How about I show the MANY other ways I can screw up this turkey"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Evilgidgit In reply to JohntheMagnificent [2012-11-17 00:54:27 +0000 UTC]

So Akira pretty much continued the series for fans but deliberately made it bad?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JohntheMagnificent In reply to Evilgidgit [2012-11-17 01:01:16 +0000 UTC]

thats the only excuse I would accept for the shlock that follwed the cell saga, he even said himself that the cell saga was meant to be the final arc of the series. why do you think dbzkai ended there? But fans didnt like it and wouldnt leave him alone about it

this is also why I think tite kubo almost killed off byakuya, fans were disenchanted with the fullbringer saga and wouldnt leave him alone, so this was his way of saying "dont test my patience mofo's"
