Then what were you doing on the computer? Any extra time you spent on the computer could have been put to better use sleeping. XP

... I was on my iPod XDD it has Internet access and was waiting for my bus to leave, so I jad some free time c:

..... Pfft. Fancy kids these days with their iThings and their wireless internets.
You win this round.

XDD I was still in my house, though... And I did not want my iPod. It was given to me instead of a computer.. XDD

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-03-30 01:44:00 +0000 UTC]

If you were still in your house, then you gave yourself too much time beforehand, and should in future spend more time sleeping. XP An iPod is useful, though, is it not? Portable access to the Internet whenever there's a wireless connection is not a bad thing at all.

chinara In reply to Introcrat [2011-03-30 08:17:29 +0000 UTC]

XDD I can't help it if my mother wakes me up at a certain time, then demands me to be up and running in the kitchen the next instant and then have some time to relax, now can I?
.... Weeeelll, it is helpful, yes. But it would be more helpful if it could use the wireless in school. -_- I can do nothing with my iPod in school, which means I have to resort to my mobile phone that can use some of the school's internet. XD;

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-03-31 07:20:43 +0000 UTC]

No, but there's no need to stay up all night and RP, now, is there? XP
Oh, how horrible. You need to switch to your other Internet-browsing mobile device to use the school's network. Life is so hard. XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chinara In reply to Introcrat [2011-03-31 07:29:05 +0000 UTC]

... THAT WAS ONCE IN MY LIFETIME DDD8 ... okay maybe the second time. BUT NO MORE THAN THAT! and it is enjoyable to have such a drive to write sometimes. ._. even if it's just an RP. I wish I could show the incredible fun that ensues with RPing, but alas... XD;;
... PFFF but even then I only get to check my mail and such, can't get to my dA and see Twitter only when I refresh bacillion of times. 8< It doesn't really help either.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-03-31 18:27:17 +0000 UTC]

Not doing it very often is no excuse. XD I know well the entertainment that can be had through writing, but sleep is still critical. Was that an indirect invitation to RP? XP
So when you're at school, you actually have to focus on learning and being a good student? Wow. I'm not sure how you make it through the day.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chinara In reply to Introcrat [2011-03-31 18:43:46 +0000 UTC]

XD;;; I know... I know that well... I'm trying to keep it at a minimum, though... And certainly you do, you are a writer on dA after all.
... Perrrrrhaps? XD;; Of course, only if you have time.
XDD Hey, I do know when to check and when not. I only check during Lunch Break and the short breaks in between, if there is anything urgent to take care of.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-04-01 06:27:18 +0000 UTC]

I have no problem with you RPing as much as you please. But I can assure you that writing when you should be sleeping is almost always a bad idea. XP
Not in the next month, I'm afraid, though I have no idea how long these things take. Or what they consist of. Or what one does. Or anything else about them. So it's probably easier to just pass altogether.
But you're in high school! You should be doing typical high school things, like insulting your friends behind their backs, or smoking, or... something. >_> <_< (*Spent most lunch hours in high school in the library on the Internet*)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chinara In reply to Introcrat [2011-04-02 01:04:20 +0000 UTC]

XDD... Be careful with your words... You might regret them soon.
But what if it's just a very precious moment?! D8 How could I stop?
XD... And I expected this elegant withdrawal of the offer as well. I would be more than glad to introduce you to everything, if that is all.
... XDD Although there is an appalling increase in smoking teenagers, I do not feel the desire to help accelerating the figure's growth. ALSO you are the on to talk XDDD You did just the same as me!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-04-04 05:19:23 +0000 UTC]

Why, are you planning something? -__-
Seeing as I don't know what RPing consists of, I have no idea what a precious moment consists of, or how you could or could not stop.
I'll let you know the next time I have the time and inclination to do it. Although, not knowing exactly what it is, I'll just let you know when I have a lot of time and feel like being confused. XP
But you could have so much fun inhaling toxins! Delicious toxins. Or I hear they're delicious. Somehow. It's all a bit of a mystery, really. :/ And hey, just because I was a recluse in high school doesn't mean that everyone should do it. I know enough psychology to know that socializing with one's peers creates regular, rational, well-adjusted human beings, while spending all of one's time alone on the Internet creates violent and unstable psychopaths. And nerds. Neither of which are desirable outcomes. XP

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chinara In reply to Introcrat [2011-04-04 15:02:26 +0000 UTC]

Why, yes! I shall introduce you into the loveliness that is RPing.
Oh, I am certain I can explain it sufficiently. c: It's not hard to grasp, the concept I mean, and certainly not difficult to you seeing as you are a writer whose style I admire. XD And if I'm good enough, I shall be able to show you what such a precious moment is.
Of course, a little bit of preparation would be nice. Like a plot, or a setting, or a fandomm, if that is easier for you.
XDD I value my already broken body too much to break it even more. My lungs ache at the mere sign of smoke, so I shall not strain them any more.
PFFF, it's not like I am like this because I should; it is because I like having some time to myself. Of course, accompanying my friends once in a while to lunch is nice, but I need my peace from time to time. XDD And I fear I'm out of the norm then, seeing how I am not an unstable psychopath, and can hold my violent side back.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-04-12 21:50:53 +0000 UTC]

You know, you're not making it sound any less terrifying. -__-
Well then, explain away. I'm afraid that as it stands, you're only making it sound as if it is something I should be running away from. XP
Well, fine. But don't come complaining to me when you're 60 and haven't died of lung cancer like all the cool kids. XD
That's what they all say. Then one day, you snap, and murder three people with a waffle iron. Horrified at yourself but still reasonable, you cut up their bodies into manageable chunks and stuff them in your freezer, and spend the rest of your life denying their existence. It's always the quiet ones. XP

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chinara In reply to Introcrat [2011-04-13 16:29:39 +0000 UTC]

... XD... My apologies, I got carried away.
Okay, in a nutshell: There are two types of RPs: Paragraph RPs and Script RPs. While they can have the same content, they differ in the way they are written.
Paragraph RPs are essentially written like novels or short stories; each player writes one or several paragraphs involving his character. Then it's his partner's turn and so on. Of course, if you are sure that the other won't mind, you may involve your partner's character in your post.
Script RPs are... um... Not quite that legible or rather, of a less favorable reputation. Essentially you write your character's name, double-dot and then write what he says. Whatever he does is given in [] or **. Example: Zim: YOU HUMAN FILTH! *points at Dib*
Depending on the story and on whether the writers want to take the RP seriously, they tend to one or another direction. As you might've noticed, I grativate towards the former, but can, if necessary, do Script RPs as well.

PFFF! A fine set of lungs that work is quite precious, don't you agree? XD
HAH! A waffle iron? Quite unorthodox and something I don't even possess. XD I'd prefer other instruments, but I digress. I highly doubt I will turn in such a psychopath.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-04-17 02:02:23 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, I see. Excellent explanation, thank you. Unfortunately, I'm afraid you were right - I must bow out, as the entire affair doesn't really seem like my cup of tea. Terribly sorry.
Only as precious as they are difficult to get replacements. XP If they were easy to replace, they wouldn't be very precious.
A laptop, then. And alright, doubt all you will, but when the police find the bodies and you're at my door looking for a place to hide, remember that I gave you fair warning. XP

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chinara In reply to Introcrat [2011-04-17 16:25:07 +0000 UTC]

XD Why am I not surprised by your well-put refusal.
Well, then wouldn't it be foolish of me to risk their health, then? As long as they are precious I should keep them at least. c:
I would rather prefer the classical frying pan or the violin variation, but a laptop will have to do. XD oh my, was this an offer that I could hide at yours, should it come down to this?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-04-17 18:05:10 +0000 UTC]

Oh? Why aren't you? XP
Indeed. At least until cheap and easy replacements are possible. XD
The frying pan is done far too often, and I'm not sure if the violin could survive three separate bludgeonings. XD It wasn't, but sure, why not. Just make sure you don't get followed, because I really don't want Interpol or the Mounties to break down my door.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chinara In reply to Introcrat [2011-04-18 10:03:38 +0000 UTC]

XDD You seem like a much too organized or rather sensible person as that you would ever consider RPing, simple as that.
Which will take some time until genetic engineering to this extent has become legal XDD
XDD Well, that is true... But I could take the violin case, and everything would be all right c| I shall be sure to pop up whenever I flee to Canada and have to hide Not that I hope that our first encounter will be on such a sour note.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-04-18 20:35:28 +0000 UTC]

That sounds like a compliment, but seeing as you take such pleasure in it, I'm not sure if it really is. XP
Ever the pessimist. XD Give it twenty or thirty years, and they should be starting human trials.
Hmmm... Alright, the violin case is a potential weapon of psychopathic murder. XD Well, you'd certainly want to leave the EU, and you'd blend in excellently over here. And it's not a sour note at all, I've met many of my best friends while they were hiding from the police. XP

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chinara In reply to Introcrat [2011-04-19 08:07:40 +0000 UTC]

WHAT? Where did you see pleasure in this compliment? XDD It was a genuine compliment, I swear!
Actually that was optimistic XDD I hope that organs such as the lungs remain precious. Then smokers have less of a reason to continue smoking!
Well, I would still have to take a heavy violin case, though... Too good I have one that weighs at least 5 kilos. OH REALLY? Now this is... unsettling XDD What kind of friends do you have?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-04-19 20:28:52 +0000 UTC]

None in the compliment - it's the activity that you take pleasure in. It was a poorly-worded statement. >_<
So you would rather that people with lung cancer died so that smokers would stop smoking? Harsh, madam, very harsh. XP
Did you buy this case specifically for murdering people, or is that just a happy coincidence? XP I jest, I jest, I have never hid any of my friends from the police. Yet. XP

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chinara In reply to Introcrat [2011-04-21 13:07:24 +0000 UTC]

XD Well... It was a genuine compliment, even though with a slight tinge of bitterness since I did not succeed in convincing you... XP
Oh, they are quite unfortunate, these individuals... But well, they can blame the smokers who smoked so much in their presence that their lungs died on them...
A happy dappy coincidence, of course I would never buy a murder weapon on purpose. Well, perhaps I will be the first, though I do not aspire to be the first one of this peculiar kind of meeting circumstances.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-04-21 19:06:48 +0000 UTC]

Terribly sorry that I was unconvinced, then. .__.
A harsh punishment, then, that they are to die for the sins of others. Never knew you had it in you. XP
Well, I don't think anyone plans on meeting another during a murder investigation. It just happens. After you inevitably murder somebody. XP

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chinara In reply to Introcrat [2011-04-22 18:05:07 +0000 UTC]

Hah! Nothing to be sorry for. XD Just wait until I do convince you, then your apology won't be needed.
XDD It's fate, what can you do? Or, as Sartre puts it, it's one's own responsibility whatever happens.
... Now, I don't hope that this will happen XDD it would be qite unfavorable, truth be told.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-04-22 18:29:19 +0000 UTC]

That sounds... ominous. XD
But if we researched artificial lungs, then it might not be our fate. By you making organs still precious, many people would die when it doesn't have to be their fate. It's just you killing people to attack smokers. XP
Well, that's why I'm warning you. So that you'll be suitably prepared when the bodies are starting to decompose. XP

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chinara In reply to Introcrat [2011-04-22 22:03:12 +0000 UTC]

Not at all It's only a foreshadowing of what my efforts will be for 2011...
I'm not killing anyone! D: The ones killing are the smokers. If they didn't smoke the percentage of lung cancer patients would decrease drastically. x:
XDDD Well, I won't let this happen... After all, I won't become mentally unstable to the extent that I would kill. XP

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-04-23 17:48:34 +0000 UTC]

Ominous foreshadowing is still ominous. XP
But you have the chance to save them. If you could save them but choose not to, their deaths are still your burden to bear.
The mental asylums are filled with people who made the same choice, madam. XP

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chinara In reply to Introcrat [2011-04-23 18:02:53 +0000 UTC]

PFAH! It will only remain ominous as long as you view it as such. Giving in cures the ominosity.
I doubt it. Seeing how I'm certainly not born for genetic engineering, how could I even begin contributing to it? XD I doubt I could be responsible for it.
Oh really. Do I appear like such a mentally unstable person to you that you deem me prone to becoming a patient?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-04-23 19:07:14 +0000 UTC]

Perhaps, but given who I am it is impossible for me to view it as any other way. XP If I did not see it as ominous, I would not be being honest with myself.
Ah, but you do not have to create it to be responsible for it. So long as you condemn it and wish it did not exist, you are responsible for inhibiting it.
Not yet. But then, very few people appear to be so mentally unstable, and yet there are thousands of psychiatric wards in hospitals filled with people.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chinara In reply to Introcrat [2011-04-24 20:53:43 +0000 UTC]

... XD Damn it. I lack the power of persuasion like Lord Henry from The Picture of Dorian Gray! Otherwise you'd have given in by now.
Hm... True. So what should I do to support it? First I'd have to find a way to break the smoke addiction, though. Hm.
Thousands, you say? Hah! Thousands! Thousands against a few billions of humans! I say the probability that I am going to be one of them is relatively low.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-04-25 06:36:52 +0000 UTC]

We can't all have prodigious powers of persuasion, madam, and even if we did they would probably only work in a face-to-face conversation. XP
The long-term problem isn't the addiction. The problem is the social perspective on it. If nobody wanted to smoke in the first place, then the addiction wouldn't be an issue.
Thousands of wards, each with dozens of patients. And most people with such conditions simply take medication and do not need a hospital bed. Besides, you're not just an average person, and have been diagnosed (by me ) to be at high risk, which places you in a category where the probability is vastly higher. XP

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chinara In reply to Introcrat [2011-04-25 09:44:26 +0000 UTC]

XDD well, true... The voice and the movements influence the outcome a lot. I recall Henry being extremely convincing due to his melodious voice and enchanting hand movements.
I wonder what people find cool about smoking anyway. It's useless, it's death on bills, and it makes one stink afterwards. e-e
Pfffff, so what qualifies as such a case? XD And pfah, is that so? Then how come you are still around me, then? Seeing how I pose a threat to you as well if I was that much in risk.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-04-25 20:05:03 +0000 UTC]

And therefore I am immune to whatever enchanting powers of persuasion you may or may not have. XP
And it's a lot of money in the long term. I think it's calming, but aside from that I don't know.
Such things are decided individually - there is no fixed criteria. XD I'm safe because I'm halfway across the world from you, and even if you go to a school over here it'll be on the other side of the continent. Should you come here, I can simply take away your violin case and be perfectly safe. XP

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chinara In reply to Introcrat [2011-04-25 22:03:25 +0000 UTC]

... Just wait till I get a hold of you in person... I shall woo you with ALL I have ]8<
Very calming to know that one is swallowing death with each cigarette. >> I just... don't see why.
XDD Oh really? Then I individually say I'm perfectly fine! c:
... Oh are you really? I highly doubt you could stop me, should I ever come across you with an unlikely murderous intent and a violin case in my hand... XD I'm skilled with handling my precious items. In every way possible.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-04-26 16:00:41 +0000 UTC]

Really, now. That shall be an interesting day to see. XP
I think it's the nicotine, actually. It's the same with any other drug - you try it, you enjoy the effects, and then you become addicted. :/
Individuals cannot self-diagnose. You'd have to get somebody else to say that you're fine. Crazy people say that they're sane all the time. XP
Perhaps, but the only way you'd come to me was in seeking to hide from the authorities, no? I could always demand that you leave the case outside before I open the door, and I could then retrieve and hide it later. No sense in getting myself killed. XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chinara In reply to Introcrat [2011-07-21 18:45:34 +0000 UTC]

... wait. Did I... Oh god. .///. My sis just told me what woo actually means >> I'm terribly sorry for being so... argh I'm sorry ._."
Well. << Still, it's a stupid thing to begin with even. It only destroys your mind and body. What for? Only to stink out of your mouth thanks to the smoke and have yellow teeth.
XDD Well, but I don't think I am crazy, mostly because nobody around me here calls me crazy! Wouldn't that count as diagnosis?
XDDD True... But then my poor, poor violin would be all alone. I couldn't have that. Besides, I wish to meet you under more pleasant circumstances XD Not when I'm a hunted homicide suspect.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-07-23 04:43:25 +0000 UTC]

Not to worry, it seemed a little out of place so I assumed that you had a misguided understanding of the word. No embarrassment necessary. XP
Todestrieb? I don't know, you would have to ask someone who smokes. I only know a few, but none of them are in the country and it's an odd question to ask over the Internet.
Hardly. From the tales you tell of the people around you, you live in a madhouse. XP
Your poor, poor violin would probably need some time alone to get over the emotional shock of having been used as a murder weapon, no? XD And more pleasant circumstances would be, well, tautologically pleasant, but one cannot always make such choices. When you wake up and find that there are human heads in your fridge, it will be too late. XP

But the good stuff on the Internet lasts forever. (You might notice that nothing on the Internet has lasted forever. This is because there is no good stuff on the Internet. XP)
Early June, I think. Unless I fail something. Then it would probably be in September.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chinara In reply to Introcrat [2011-03-10 19:10:01 +0000 UTC]

XD I beg to differ. If anything comes close to forever that we produce [at least generally] then it would be radio-active Uranium 234. And that certainly isn't good. Same goes for the internet. For the short life the internet has had up to this point... Google has prevailed extremely long. XD It lasted forever in internet terms. And it certainly has become the center of a discussion about the controversy of a splendid search engine that stores all data processed.
Oh, I am convinced that this won't be the case. o: so June it is then! It shall be celebrated.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-03-13 21:59:14 +0000 UTC]

U-234 decays, at least. Plastic, I am told, lasts forever. As for the Internet, Google has been around for about 2/3 of the Internet's lifespan, so I suppose that's pretty good. Apart from Yahoo or certain Usenet groups, it's lasted longer than most things. The privacy complaints just prove how effective it is - sites almost always store your data, but people only complain when the sites get to be huge.
Just found out that it's in late May, actually. Which means that the journal might be out in June.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chinara In reply to Introcrat [2011-03-15 21:21:29 +0000 UTC]

It does decay, yes, but within billions of years, if not even hundreds of billions. And plastic is not that lasting, I was taught. As it seems, it should deteriorate within a few thousands, perhaps a million years. And well, Google certainly is the only thing that lives up to "long-term survivor" on the internet.
Interesting that you argue with this. It might also be that people would only object if they did a lot and sometimes none too graceful things on the internet, too. ... Then again, I, too, feel a little uncomfortable if I know all my data is saved. >>
... Well! You will be done with university earlier than me anyway XD It won't keep me from my masterplan, though. c|

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Introcrat In reply to chinara [2011-03-16 07:51:37 +0000 UTC]

Very true... Still, the only other easy option is burning more coal or oil, at least until something more renewable becomes cheap and efficient. And even though plastics break down, when they do so they produce toxins that permeate the air and water, and those toxins don't go away naturally. It will be interesting to see if Google manages to become a real long-term business and not just long-term compared to the rest of the Internet.
Well, it's true - when you buy something online through Ebay or Amazon, all of that gets saved... Every forum server has log files saying who said what... dA knows everything you've done and said on the site... The Internet keeps track of almost everything. I suspect that you're right about the less-than-graceful things, but at the risk of sounding crass, there is a certain song which suggests that it might be a common occurrence. Sadly, there's nothing you can do about sites saving your data, so hopefully it doesn't make you too uncomfortable. XP
Your masterplan? Which one? I have been privy to several, if memory serves. XP
