Nevermore was walking down a back-street of a city, her wings hidden beneath her sweatshirt, as usual, to conceal them; she looked like a normal human at the moment. It was a dark, damp, and honestly a little spooky-seeming evening, and she hugged her arms against her chest and shivered slightly as a chilly breeze swept over her.

Chris was walking outside just having finished some errands, bags hang in off his arm. He was walking by a backstreet and heard a rustle making him stop. He looked into the darkness
"Hello?" He asked adjusting his glasses

Never jumped slightly at the voice; she hadn't seen the man. Of course, she didn't need light to see, her mutant abilities helped with that, but she had just been lost in thought. She blinked once, then saw him. Giving a small smile, the woman replied, "Oh, hello, I didn't notice you there." Her voice had a distinct British accent.

"I was just passing by" he nodded with a smile back "what are you doing out in the cold?" He said motioning to the cold streets with his bag

"I was out on a walk," she said with a smile; she could pull a fast one with such ease it was undetectable. "I ended up staying out longer than expected." Lightning streaked across the sky, and Never cringed slightly. She'd never liked lightning. "It looks like it's going to rain soon, though. I should be on my way."

Chris raised a brow before nodding to that. He looked up at the lightning and sighed. Guess outside was no longer an option. He looked to her and asked "do you have a place to stay?" He asked

Never shivered again; she was starting to get chilly. "Y- yeah," she said. She didn't mention the fact that her apartment was being watched and she didn't dare go back there or the fact that it was on the other side of the city. Thunder rumbled faintly above them ominously.

Chris thought for a moment before nodding " well im head back to my place. Its a five minute walk, if you want to come" he said before pulling out a big umbrella.
like professor Xavier said no mutations Willy nilly. So no sudden forcefields. An umbrella would have to do

Feeling a bit embarrassed, she asked, "Could I? I mean, if it's not too much trouble..." She was getting the feeling that there was someone watching her then and there. She stole a glance to the rooftops before continuing to look downwards, avoiding the kind-seeming man's eyes. Serena's nearly all-green eyes seemed to unnerve humans, but she really couldn't blame them.
((Since you're not calling Chris by his codename, I'm gonna call Serena by her real name too. Btw, I read Chris' OC page; I really like his character. ^^ Oh, and Serena doesn't know that he's a mutant at the moment.))

Chris nodded with a small smile. "Not a problem. As long as you dont mind chaos...but where I live is nice" he said before offering for her to stand under the umbrella
'Professor xavier will greet her..while mr. Lenders kills me' he thought before keeping up the smile "come on lets get out of the rain"

The rain started to fall, along with another flash of lightning, and the usual small cringe from Serena. Giving a smile, she responded, letting her black-colored bangs fall in front of her eyes as she looked towards his eyes again. "I don't mind; thank you a lot!" She hurried for the first few steps before matching his stride under the umbrella as they began to walk.

Chris smiled and started walking his eyes looking everywhere just in case, as was his habit.
"Not a problem...I live with a lot of others but they should behave...the word is should" he chuckled
they walked for a while and soon the huge mansion came into sight.

As she saw the mansion, she let out a quiet gasp of awe. "Wow!" She spoke slightly breathlessly. "It's huge!"

'Chris chuckled and nodded "yeah, its my home slash school" he said
as they approached many children were outside playing in the rain. two adult males stood watching under one umbrella. the brunette was chuckling and laughing while the darker haired one stood frowning. the brunette turned and smiled
"Ah chris back with the groceries?" he smiled
"Yes proffessor and also what Mr, Lensherr put on the list," he said before turning to Serena "those are my teachers...they dont bit...well the professor doesnt"

She took in all of these details with interest, and raised an eyebrow at the last statement. A playful grin toyed at the edge of her mouth as she said, "I see."

erik seemed to glare but The professor smiled and walked over with his cane.
"well well well, who is this young christopher?" Charles smiled
"Just chris please" he chuckled before answering "this is serena professor, she needed somewhere to wait out the rain...is that ok?"
Charles smiled and nodded "oh course"

She smiled at the professor politely, then her eyes went wide at Erik's question. "I, uh..." She looked down, not knowing what to say. She hardly dared to believe it. Does he mean... They're mutants too???? she thought, the faintest light of hope appearing in her mind.

Charles sighed while Chris rolled his eyes.
"I hope not alarm you my dear, but welcome to the Xavier institute for Gifted Youngsters" he smiled
"we're mutants" erik said stone faced, he turned to Chris who was frowning at him "Oh come off it Celestial."
"now now no fighting....Chris if you would" Charles smiled
"Sure professor" he said before sending a smile before he turned invisible

Serena looked up as Erik said the words she'd been hoping for, and she looked slightly alarmed as Chris vanished. Seeing no need to hide her eyes now, she pushed her bangs out from in front of them. Suddenly, a faint green glow emanated from those eerie eyes, and she stuck out a finger, poking the shoulder of the invisible Chris. She could see him now, but just barely, as a faint outline, through the mutation of her eyesight. With a grin, she said playfully, "Found you."

Eriks brows shot up and left out a huff of amusement
"Amazing! a very groovy mutation you have my dear" charles clapped before erik rolled his eyes and kept a hand on his shoulder
Chris started before chuckling and turning visible again "nice eyes" he smiled relieved now "well...now we can tell you. welcome to the school where mutants come to practice their powers"

She blinked hard a few times and the glow from her eyes stopped. The joy inside her then was incredible, and she grinned wider. "Thank you," was all she could say for a moment, then she realized something. "Wait... Everyone here is a mutant?" She looked towards Erik and Charles with a single eyebrow raised slightly, a newfound curiosity forming. "So that means..."

Chris grinned and gave a silent nod.
Charles chuckled and nodded with excitement "We are too my dear. Erik and I ae actually what you would call deans or lead teachers. welcome" the voice echoed in her head
Erik stayed firm but smirked and lifted his hand, to which all of Chris's change flew out of his pocket and and started circling around his hand
"these are for Banshee and his arcade addiction huh?" erik smirked
Chris sheepish blush told it all

She hadn't been expecting the voice in her head, and glanced around and above her before realizing that it was Charles. As the change hovered into Erik's hand, Serena watched, in awe, then stifled her laughter as he asked the question. "I just-" She could hardly form words. "I just never imagined that a place like this could exist!"

Chris grumbled and went to erik to try and haggle his change back
Charles chuckled and nodded to Serena "well we just formed it a few months ago. i believe all mutations are wonderful and should be learnt" he smiled softly "and my dear friend erik believes no one should hide. which is true" he smiled
he looked back to erik smirking as Chris tried to jump and grab his change, a smile on his face as well "and people can be comfortable here with what they have. take chris for example. hes now comfortable sharing his gift"

"Their gifts..." She trailed off, then shifted her back muscles a bit; her strapped-down and hidden wings were getting to a point of unbearably uncomfortable. Then she got an idea. "Do you have a restroom anywhere?" she asked suddenly to Charles.

Charles nodded and pointed "third door on the left. straight in"
"you ok?" chris asked, stopping his jumping

"Thank you." She then glanced at Chris with a mischievous smile. "I will be."
As she entered the restroom, she chose a stall quickly and took off her jacket. She was excited now, and there were four quiet 'click's as she unstrapped her black, feathered wings from her back. Tying the sleeves of the jacket around her waist, she flexed her wings a bit to relieve some of the tension they had previously been under with a sigh. She wondered what her 'welcoming committee' would think of this mutation as she unlatched the stall and walked out.
The black leather straps were hanging off her arm as she walked back towards the group. She let out a slightly calming breath as she paused just around the corner, trying to steady her nerves, then walked around the corner towards the small group, her ebony-feathered wings now fully exposed. She gave a slightly nervous smile, then said, "I- I'm back."

"that is amazing!" Charles said looking like a kid in a candy shop "How big is your wingspan?" he rapidly asked questions as Erik, Chri, and a young girl and boy (Ororo and Scott)
"woooow" the young kids wowed
Chris looked on and smiled "nice mutation Serena. its beautiful"
Erik nodded in happiness with a shark like smirk

"Thank you." Serena blushed slightly, not used to the attention. "I've never actually measured it, but..." She made her wings suddenly extend to their full span, each wing seeming a few inches longer than her height. Feeling it was necessary, she turned slowly in a 360, revealing that she'd cut holes in her shirt just large enough for the wings to come out of her skin on her back.
