I'm sure everyone remembers when Deidara said "Pop is dead. My style is Superflat." Deidara is actually refering to two art movements. The Pop Art Movement is pro-consumerism and celebrates modern society. The Superflat Art Movement (which is currently only in Japan), on the other hand, opposes Pop art. Superflat is a postmodern art movement, founded by the artist Takashi Murakami, which is influenced by manga and anime. The term is used by Murakami to refer to various flattened forms in Japanese graphic art, animation, pop culture and fine arts, as well as the shallow emptiness of Japanese consumer culture. It focuses on being critical to the modernization, Westernization, and commercialization of Japan since WWII. It is also critical of the sexual fetishism (which INCLUDES homosexuality, lolicon, shotacon, and otaku sexuality) of postwar Japan. Why would Deidara be critical of homosexuality and be gay at the same time? Superflat artists also targets the anime industry and fandom (for similar reasons).

.__. technically, the support of a style/movement does not automatically denote sexuality
for example, many of the yaoi fans you criticize have a fascination with homosexuals, yet they do not exhibit any form of homosexuality in themselves
it works vice versa, too - a homosexual may hate his/her own sexuality, but be unable to suppress their sexual needs
such an example was leonardo da vinci, who was ashamed as a human to express sexual cravings from time to time - oddly enough, he was fascinated with the innocence and beauty of youth and held virginity in high regard
also note: da vinci, one of the greatest minds in the sciences, maths, and the arts, and considered one of the brightest intellectuals of all time, ahead of his time, was a homosexual, who often hired male prostitutes as subject models for his paintings and on many occasions, had sexual relations with them
i'm not saying deidara is gay or anything - i'm just trying to prove a point - since there is no evidence pointing to either conclusion, it was obvious that kishimoto merely created deidara as a character, and left enough details out of his backstory for fans to interpret the character in their own way, so that everyone could be satisfied with their "ideal" deidara
some people want him gay, some people want him straight, and many like to pair him with male AND female characters - is that so bad?
while half the fandom may be upset at the other half, there is no need to quarrel or make hate groups
designated against the opposing team - why can't we all just get along an like what we like?
because really, no one cares - deidara isn't even a real person; he's just a really really famous oc, who makes money for his creator by being an ambiguous bishonen - i'm sure that as long as the yen keeps rolling in, kishimoto is more than happy to let the fandom do what they will with him, so long as they don't steal him, claim him as their own, or start blowing shit up like he did - afterall, it's all about the money and fame for that guy - he's just manipulating everyone into his "products and merchandise" with the faggy homo-appeal
kishimoto doesn't care - if he did, he would've whined and bitched about this first, before any of the straight-deidara fangirls got to it
