You should definitely try paper clay since you like sculpture...it's incredibly fun to work with, there are different processes during different stages of dryness so you can mold it, scrape and sand it, etc. You can even re-hydrate it to a certain extent, so you have to seal it with acrylic or something when you're finished. Check it out!

Haha...well, yes. And no. Now would probably not be the best time to ask me about it (I've got a little burn-out going on, and I'm a little obsessed with RISD's social/community failings at the moment). However, if you look at my art pre-RISD and then again post-RISD, you'll notice a pretty dramatic difference. I know plenty of people who loved every minute of it and are now over-the-moon in ideal art careers, and I know people who dropped out because they hated it so much. I learned a lot, met some amazing people, and now I've decided I want to do something different (like teach).

Hahaha, good, I'd never tell you not to apply.

When I applied, and for about three years during, I was almost 100% positive I wanted to be a freelance illustrator. Now that's about the last thing I want to do, heh. Life's full of changes! For me, when art becomes work, it isn't fun anymore...so I need to make art on my own terms. But I do know a lot of people who can do both.
