I recommend using this in considering your comission prices.  3 is about $0.04.  If you spent 1 hour on your commission, is your time worth less than a nickel?  Maybe instead of offering commission for this price you could offer premium contents where they pay (I think the minimum is 10 /$0.13) for your digital item, which you could sell repeatedly.

If you buy a one month subscription, it would be 396 , a commission at 3 would mean you would need to do 132 commissions to get one month sub.

I don't know.  I'd say many are that underpriced because they are doing it for fun or exposure?  But there may be some who do not know the value, so good to know.  I know a lot of people have said their extremely low price is so anyone can afford it (via llama trade, you can get a few points pretty quickly, and dAhub has a earn system, etc) and therefore can sell many.  If they are selling a template which gets slightly customized, I'd understand it better, but if it is a full commission, which you spend 3+ hours, maybe even a week or so tweaking to the customer's specifications...  

I offered troubleshooting and dA fixes (when dA changes its codes so the skin gets broken) on mine.  I've even helped groups install theirs.  I know my prices were on the low end.  Not because I devalue myself, but I liked to offer affordable prices and I wanted many sales.  Mine were always few and far between though and my focus has gone from commissions.

That´s true.
Not everyone can buy for themselves, so it gets difficult to get them.
And get money/ via commission is a secure yet non-consistent way, unless you´re a very famous artist.
It depends on what one does, and how interacts with others too.

Yes I do. Commissions that involves real money. I post journals to announce batches of certain type of art. Recemtly however, I much rather take cmsns in-stream. Whenever I do announce them

Don't do art trades anymore cos it takes me ages to draw stuff for others and it upsets them and then I feel like a dog for it.

A lot of CSS-makers here are available for commissions. Myself , Docali , fantasy-alive , poserfan , Nesmaty etc. Just look through the galleries, check the prizes and decide who you wish to deal with.

They're called supergroups for a reason - don't make sense to have them if the basic groups had all the same "bells and whistles"

Yeah how about changing DEVIANTART'S web layout from depression grey green to another color, and I don't mean on your profile either. I mean the entire website. make it red or blue, how about black or orange! It's been the same color for 13 years? It makes some people depressed around here.

Green is not only subtle - it's good for your eyes (especially if you spent a lot of time here) and it's perfect for the background (imho). But it wouldn't be bad to have some more variations to choose from, of cause.

I've spent time here since 2007 and it's the wrong background after looking at it until 2010. now I call it depression grey green until my professor gets a good visual color on what Deviantart's background color is.

Personally, I like the green. It's subtle. deviantART promotes art, not its own webdesign.

Hello. 

I have a journal skin design that i've managed to make work on a normal browser, can be found here: docs.google.com/file/d/0Bw9VrS…

But when i've tried to make it into a journal skin on dA, the images don't match up and some are moved etc. I've tried to fix it myself and i keep coming across these pictures of boxes with loads of code in and honestly, it means absolutely nothing to me. I'd be grateful for some help.

I managed to do one that looked similar and basically did what i wanted but things like the menu and title weren't in the right place, so i'll use yours.

Oh one last thing I noticed. I changed the css on the .gr-top DIV from width:850px to max-width:850 and I set the i.tri to display: none. 

Just minor details that make it much better, you can find the new CSS here.
