Thank you for the kind compliments! Unfortunately you are right. There are some but indeed just a few. Maybe I should search more, well whatever.
Such responses helps me for keeping on my work.

You are a shining example for me:
I’m inching toward showing panoramic scenery
with dozens of characters per shot!

Thank you again - but maybe too much compliments, I still have to learn a lot. The pool scenery in "Last Days" I made with 5 or 6 pictures or so. After rendering I stitched them together in GIMP as layers. Like a batch of transparencies.
Learned this lesson by Bodak1984 - check his gallery. He is the real mastermind when it comes to panorama shots with dozens of characters in it!

Well - thank you very much. But I think the praise is a bit much. I myself have still to learn a lot! In my picture with the pool scenery I used several pictures which I first rendered in DAZ Studio and then used as layers in GIMP and put the layers together - like a batch of transparencies.
This lesson I learned from Bodak1984 - check out his gallery. He is the real master when it comes to show a panorama shot with dozens of characters in it!

Thank you ; hadn’t seen Bodak1984.
Another master is the ManFromAbora ;

Also, you may find some gems in my Cityscape Reference collection.
But what is truly rare is one who shows large groups of people, well rendered,
and who also has an engaging story stringing the various images together.
Isn’t that the direction in which you are heading?

Thanks for the examples. And yes - this is definitely my direction. I would like to create decent pictures but on the other hand to tell a story with people who have backgrounds and a life. Guess this makes it a graphic novel or so.

Yes; your
The Evangelical AtheistThe Evangelical Atheist
The long flow of logic flowed into a twist
That makes rhyme and reason both cease and desist.
Religion and piety yet still persist.
Thus: Evangelical Atheist.
In all sorts of places, he'll raise his own stink
Obsessed with our graces, what other folks think.
Our calm and our prayers both cause him to grieve.
He gets so upset at what WE still believe!
You cannot comfort him, give balm to his fears.
You try to speak with him, he shutters his ears.
His thoughts are unclear, his true cause unseen.
You ask explanation, and he gets obscene!
You pity his misery, pray for his soul.
He screams and tries to drag you in HIS hole.
He can't stand you having what he knows he's missed.
Poor Evangelical Atheist!
In just one short century, brutal and thrilling,
The Atheists caught up with 'religious' killing.
They claim unbelief, but it's true, sad to tell
They stoke the world's grief and turn it into Hell.
They'll cite Richard Dawkins, point to his degree
But cannot pers strikes a chord familiar to me.
And I was impressed by the way you rhyme!

Your lazy afternoon?
You had requested a critique, and I was mulling over that.
- Fantasy that depicts parents and their kids is not that common. Thank you!
- Your composition has a lot of content.
[I get increasingly frustrated by portraits with little or no background,
and that includes my own such!] - It’s good to see wings in different poses, beyond the greeting-card angelic pose.
- Your take on flying fish is novel and refreshing.
- I like that extra ladle of detail you give; e.g. the fish that one hardly sees, under water.
- I also appreciate your taking the time to make a variety of facial expressions,
and if the mother seems to be the same character as , then
so much the better! Do we have a story?? - If you care enough about these characters,
it may be worth your while to re-render your “lazy afternoon” to meet the quality
that you achieve in that last example. What do you think?

Something that would instantly augment believability of your forest scene
is a higher dynamic range of light and shadows.
“All” you need to do [] is add some highlights,
like midday sun was filtering through the canopy.

P.S. Note that I wrote believability, as opposed to photo-realism:
that’s because, as far as I’m concerned, you don’t need to go out of your way to mimic a camera.
[Some people obsess over a particular make and model and chemical film.]
Here are two examples that I find believable, even though their authors
were not even aiming for photo-realism:
and others by Tohad ;
and others by Nonohara-Susu .
That last one, in particular, is worth a long look:
it’s a manga-style drawing; you can see the lines;
yet the accumulation of detail, the slight depth-of-field effect
(not to be overdone!); the camera angle; the rays of sunlight;
the distinct impression that this is page 2 of a graphic novel
(page 1 being the establishing shot of the forest as a whole)...
You have the power to DO that:
a totally engaging forest scene, worthy of a DD!

Good to “hear” that.
For a time, we had a lady here, wonderful both as a compassionate human and as an artist ,
who lived the unfortunate experience of not having the support of her family —not even her kids—
to the point that, after a couple of glorious years of productivity and interaction, she closed shop.

That happens tho in anything. I think it all depends on how far you take things to like with anything. I don't see SecondLife anything but a game I can turn on and off. I walk away from it when I have real life things to do. It doesn't run me I run it. To me its like any game, sometimes people look for more and let it run their life and others know when its time to call it a day and walk away. On there though there are people that play the game because it makes them money in RL or it helps with loneliness and people can do things on there they can't in real.

...depends on how far you take things...True.
But, in the case of Valedhelven, I’m under the impression that she lived
(and, presumably, still lives)
in a very repressive fundamentalist community, to which she would not dare to confess
that she had any activity on DeviantArt, especially not with fantasy photomanipulations
showing —gasp!— nipples.
Not even her kids would stand for such debauchery,
and so, the moment came when she felt like she was about to “get caught” and decided to opt out.
Your kids, and mine, fortunately,
are ok with their parents’ art incursions. Isn’t that great?

You have fascinating —at times, intense— years ahead!
Do NOT yield to the conventional wisdom of emphasizing interaction with kids of roughly the same age;
DO see to it that he gets intellectually challenged by older kids and interesting adults.
When he gets a good grasp of fractions and triangles, teach him Einstein’s train, and relativity!

He is a big time video buff, I don't explain anything to him, he figures all those out by himself. No, he's not an aspie, he is high functioning Autistic. Both are on the spectrum of course but different. He does love his math. He's going into first grade but does 2nd grade math, he is a builder. He's always working with legos and creates some of the coolest things. He has OCD so all the colors have to match on each row, and he always has a plan for everything. His mind is incredible. He gets bored if he isn't challenged which sometimes can cause meltdowns so, between school and me we keep his brain challenged. He wants to know how everything works, radios, cars, toasters, etc etc.

Asperger Syndrome and high functioning autism (HFA) are often referred to as the same diagnosis. While they currently exist as two separate diagnoses, there is an ongoing debate about whether that is necessary. It is possible that, in the future, they may be combined into one category. The primary difference is that a diagnosis of HFA requires that, early in development, the child had delayed language whereas in AS, the child did not show a significant delay in language development. His neurological doctor said there are other differences. I see them almost the same, all on the spectrum. We're waiting to see if my grandson who is 7 months to be tested as early as possible. He has more of a chance of having bi-polar, and a few other things other than Autism.
That's awesome and I love the mug. Let me load one up of my little guy.

but he has the highest innate linguistic talent
of anyone I’ve ever met,
including that of his paternal grandmother,

Zion still doesn't understand when another calls him funny or silly that it isn't making fun of him. Emotionally he gets frustrated and upset at the drop of a hat. The whole raining cats and dogs, if you tell him that he goes looking for cats and dogs. He excels in science big time and is catching on to math rather quickly.
Zion didn't speak till age 4 before that he used sign language fluently so at least I had a way of speaking with him for his wants and needs. He counts to 20 in Spanish and knows some words in Japanese. He catches on very quickly that way. I would love to spend one day inside his world to just understand how he perceives everything. Where I can help him at and whatever else I can learn which I am sure is a crapload of everything.
