New lens, interesting. May i ask what lens?
Well, i'm just hanging here in dA, booooooring. Waiting tomorrow, going to buy a tripod for the camera... Actually, my first one.
Have some new ideas for photographing, can't wait to try them!

It's a Sigma EX 10-20mm F4-5,6 EX DC HSM
A very wide angle lens. I was going to get a macro lens but I wanted this too
Hopefully it will be lots of fun to play with. Should be good for landscape and interior photos.
You never had a tripod?!? Then you just have to get one. It's one of those must have thingys. I think I have like 5-6 or maybe more.. but I should get a really good one some day.
Do you know what tripod you want?

Yes, i do know. You can adjust it from 30 cm to 150 cm. Will buy it from the camera shop. They promised to help me with it...
And yes, it's one of those you have to have things. But i've photographed mostly macro pictures, and it's not mandatory with them. But now i just need it, want to photograph so many other things, too.
Hopefully you get your lens soon!

Sounds like a good tripod
I think a it helps a lot with macro too...
What other things are you going to photograph? Landscapes? Self-portraits?

Landscapes, portraits and trying few other new things, too. And yes, i think that it will help a lot with macro photographs, too. And have started to save to canon eos 5 d mark 2 and 150 mm sigma macro lens, too.

Wow! You are really serious about your photography. A 5d mk2 and a 150mm sigma.. thats like $4000 if you buy them brand new.
I know I really want a 5d too but I don't know if I really need one... and I want lots of other things too so I think I'll use my 550d a little longer

Noup, not so expensive, not even brand new. Here in Finland they're about 2600 €, brand new.
And yes, i'm VERY serious about photography. More and more every day.
Btw, have now 550d, too.

I think the 550d is great.
I've added a battery grip to it. That way it fits my hands much better.
The only things I really miss are weatherproofing and a full frame sensor.
Did you see the news about the new Sigma APO Macro 180mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM [link]
Is that the one you're going to get?

I miss full frame sensor, too. Among the other reasons, that's why the 5d mark 2 is my next camera. Saw it today in the camera shop... Just want it!
Haven't seen the news, have to check the link. No, it's not the lense i'm buying. It's sigma ex 150/ f 2.8 dg os hsm apo macro. [link]
Btw, the tripod i bought, is: [link]

Yeah, that 5d mk2 is clearly on the list of things I really want.
Your tripod looks great. I would love to have a tripod that got down to 30cm. Maybe I'll even buy one of those. Wasn't to expensive, like most Manfrotto tripods.
Have you tried out your new tripod yet? Is it good? Did you get any great photos?

Ann-MarieLoponen In reply to brokenbokeh [2012-01-11 14:28:09 +0000 UTC]
Have tried it, but haven't got a chance to photograph yet. Been too busy today. Got home just a few hours ago. But at the evening will test it more.
I payed 99 € for the tripod, when it's normally in the camera shop 199 €, here. So it's not expensive, and it feels quite intent.
