Your art is fantastic!

I use 3DS Max (after posing models in XPS). I've tried Blender as well, but I think that while Blender gives the renders a little more "warmth" 3ds max just give it that real feeling. Could be just me, but I prefer 3ds max over Blender. What do you use? And also if I may ask, how did you do that amazing biotic effect on Kaidan?

I pose the models in XPS and I usually do a LOT of post-processing work in Photoshop in order to iron out the kinks (such as those lines you sometimes see on the models instead of nice curves) and improve the lighting and the shadows whenever I can. 

I would really like to make a few very realistic renders like you do though, and I tried my hand at it using 3ds Max but I had trouble with texture duplication. There are textures that you're supposed to copy without overwriting the originals but I think I messed up that part somehow... I'll give it another try soon.

Oh yeah, tons and TONS of post processing in CS. 
Photoshop is like magic!

3DS is really tricky at first when you don't really understand what you're doing, but there are some really good and easy-to-understand tutorials out there.  Let me know if you want them nd I'll send them your way.
