I had this awesome idea the other day while I was in the gym:
make a giant bouncy ball with part of it slightly carved out...attached with straps, sit on top and bounce around in a gym for the fun of it!

I doubt it - it would be too risky to market to children...

I swear I've seen some around before. It's not like it bounces really high or anything, it's just a rubber ball with a handle sticking out that bounces around a little.

It's true, though. The most satisfying relationship is one with just the right amount of give and take. You get the best combination of feelings between giving and receiving, and it at least makes me feel very loved and important at the same time.

I've been pretty good. I'm a bit annoyed at a certain person who keeps asking stupid questions regarding my faith and decided I am going to ignore him entirely. Like really, why do people spend so much time doing something as unproductive as finding something in everyone else's religion to pick on and question...
Other than that I'm trying to finish up my summer reading in the next 4 days. I've been fasting for Ramadan which can be kind of tough since its so hot here and the days are longer in the summer... Life is pretty boring right now.

Robtcee13 In reply to fly0away0 [2010-08-18 12:38:45 +0000 UTC]
As in, he's questioning your religion? That isn't considerate at all. I mean, it's okay to be curious but a big part of religion is faith, so questioning it really doesn't get anybody anywhere.
Fasting is not eating while the sun is out, right? I remember looking it up, after hearing that you needed to not eat for 30 days or something, which just didn't sound possible.
Well, summers are actually pretty boring. I've had most of my fun at college, not during the summer.

no he's asking questions that attack religion - like does your religion preach terrorism... I was patiently answering him for a while until he started bugging me with more and more questions to the point where his questions are kind of becoming insulting and annoying... I mean shesh, he obviously has internet, if he was really curious he'd look it up himself!
Like seriously, I'm tired of people from the bible belt approaching me in a condescending manner and promising I'm going to go to hell if I dont beleive as they do. I normally answer with some sort of sarcastic/wity responses pointing out their hypocrasy by saying something about they cant condemn me since they obviously aren't god himself nor do they have any power what so ever over His decisions.
Yes, not eating or drinking while the sun is out, not the entire 30 days. (Although I'm taking a break from fasting because its forbidden to fast during a certain time of the month since it would be very unhealthy to go without water at the time...)
hah... I'm dreading the start of school Monday. I still have to finish my summer reading assignments. I finished the reading part, I just have to write about it to prove that I read it...and that part is stressing me out since my brain refuses to be used...

Those questions are terrible, I agree. Even the first one, I wouldn't have tolerated that. I can't imagine how they could've gotten much worse.
I know somebody who's trying to get me to spend time with her and her youth group, get me to go to church... I'm always really hesitant about doing this just because I feel like they're going to try to get me to change my life view. I also know that I'm not going to do that. Not without something really, really convincing.
I'm sure no god would wish somebody to go thirsty in very hot weather.
If all else fails, just write something. Even a little synopsis. It's much better to have something than to have nothing.

well thats the thing I'm sick of. Islam has been under a microscope since 2011 due to a handfull of crackpots even though you find crackpots in every religion... Ever since then I've been bombarded with this junk and harrassed by ignorant stubborn close-minded people who no matter what hate anyone who isn't like themselves... For years it seems, I've been politely answering questions to the best of my abilities. It's forced me to pay more attention to the news and various complicated subjects at a young age since I was what? 9? Its forced me to research things I have nothing to do about. Heck, I went to New Orleans when I was a little kid and someone pointed at me and accused me of being a terrorist because I wasn't white nor black nor hispanic and I spoke two languages. Ironically the same people preach religious freedom, freedom of speech and such. Apparently freedom of speech is only in English and freedom to practice religion in peace depends on geography...
My point is, at first I may have cried, but I didn't mind so much. But now, now its been nearly a decade... If they haven't figured it out by now, their inteligence is worth questioning... And I'm sick of answering questions I have nothing to do with in the first place.
Exactly! Which is why I'm taking a break
I've compiled a list of significant quotes...now I just have to decide which places to compare - Europe and Africa, European Civilization at various stations, Civilization verses Wilderness, Thames River and Congo River. Say, have you by any chance read The Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad?

We were talking about prejudices in Lifetime Wellness, where people assume things because of any number of factors. My instructor told us all that the people who do that to an excess are not of the soundest mental health. This certainly was done to an excess, and the questions were questions you shouldn't have been faced with. At very least, you shouldn't have been faced with them the way they were asked. You should take a bit of comfort in the fact that these people are in fact less healthy than you and I. They're hurtful and stupid, and don't know how to truly be open or accepting of any group. I do that. I know tons of people who do that. It's really not hard to do at all, and even if it is, it's not hard to pretend that you accept people. My parents do it all the time. -.-
I have not read The Heart of Darkness. What's it about?
Also, I really hope everything else worked out in this message. It took me so long to get around to replying to it.

Well thanks Robby. Ya I'm just frustrated with this stuff... it drains my energy...
Heart of Darkness is what I have to write an essay on - I dont suggest reading it since it was so dry and boring. Okay, so its about this guy going to africa during european imperialism and noticing all the corruption going on - and the point he makes is awesome - but you get bored reading all his descriptions.

=/ I don't know what to say. Walk past the people who say these things. Their opinions don't matter to you.
Sounds like my impression of, say, Lord of the Rings. It's a great story, but the books... are so long winded. It takes like 2 chapters for anything to happen.
