Wow, thanx a bunch... I love typography as well, can't wait for Sign Systems and Typography as a subject on college next year... but, I must admit I have never done typo art and don't know how to do it, Illustrator I presume, but still not very good at my field, I study graphic design btw, If you can lend a helpful advice, I would be more than happy :d keep in touch, and I'm deffinitely in...

i use photoshop, but if you have a clear vision it doesn't really matter which programme you use

Oks, I'll have that in mind... if I can ask the first question - Do you really have a total and final picture in mind when you start working? I mean, the font choice, the size, the text, the colors, everything??? And plus, you just use Text Tool to write and then layer after layer you rotate and overlap the text, is that how it's done?

no, i don't have final picture in mind, it's more an idea i have in mind that i want to create
first comes always the words, i mean, that is the whole point in the end
mostly i spent hours findind the right font, then comes the size, the setting...
in the end it's always a whole pack: style, colors, word, font, setting. in that order i wuld say, but everyone can change that the way you prefer to work
well, about the other question:
i mostly work with one textfield, but that depends on what i want
just do it the way you can work the best and easiest way
i don't like having many layers, so i prefer not to have to many textfields
