I have to decide if I'm going to do them the same way or differently. Cx

Shadonut In reply to SpringsofIyore [2015-06-21 02:43:38 +0000 UTC]

What if you did one giant size chart with every species? ..... that file would be huge. It'll work out

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SpringsofIyore In reply to Shadonut [2015-06-21 02:53:58 +0000 UTC]

The sizes range drastically - you'd either not be able to see the small species because I'd have to fit the big ones in, or you wouldn't be able to tell which large species was what. Cx

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Shadonut In reply to SpringsofIyore [2015-06-21 14:57:30 +0000 UTC]

X) .... yeeaaahhh... maybe the old method was better than one giant one. Oh I know! What about the old ones do you wish to improve?Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SpringsofIyore In reply to Shadonut [2015-06-22 06:17:43 +0000 UTC]

Just typical sizes, and the fact that several of the linearts in the size charts are old. Cx

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Shadonut In reply to SpringsofIyore [2015-06-22 16:02:51 +0000 UTC]

C: it sounds like updating the lineart guys is the best course of action. Then maybe instead of having certain species float in the air, they're all lined up? (Maybe that part is irrelevant if the sizes are represented accurately)

Gardening is awesome though! Especially if you have good weather for it. Are we talking plants or vegetables?

Ooh~ Β May I ask what you're growing?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SpringsofIyore In reply to SECRET-NINJA-SUPER-M [2015-05-22 21:27:30 +0000 UTC]

Potatoes, carrots, a lettuce mix, kale, zucchini, pumpkins and tomatoes are the for-sure crops, and I'm also trying a black bell pepper (because I'm insanely curious as to what it will look/taste like) and corn (if it isn't dug up by squirrels, and if it actually comes up and if it actually has a long enough growing season to produce ears, which is not guaranteed because Alberta).
I've done celery in past years, but it always tasted so bitter, so I've dropped it out of my rotation.Β

SECRET-NINJA-SUPER-M In reply to SpringsofIyore [2015-05-28 21:45:30 +0000 UTC]

I am super impressed with both your and Jiah's gardening~ Β Does the food taste better to you if you grew it yourself?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SpringsofIyore In reply to SECRET-NINJA-SUPER-M [2015-05-28 22:38:55 +0000 UTC]

Carrots for sure - nothing beats a carrot pulled out of the dirt and washed off with the garden hose.Β
And tomatoes always taste better home grown. I personally like store celery better, but that's because I've never had a good crop of celery at home (always so bitter). For the rest, I think it's comparable, but it's just so much fun growing your own.

jaiharock In reply to SpringsofIyore [2015-05-25 00:16:54 +0000 UTC]

We tried a garden last year. Out of beans, carrots, radishes, and lettuce all we got were decent radishes. Thinking of turning the area in the yard into something for our son. Maybe pour cement for a basketball pad.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SpringsofIyore In reply to jaiharock [2015-05-25 02:17:27 +0000 UTC]

Really? I've never had problems with carrots and lettuce and we're basically in the same hardiness zone. Were you growing in the ground or in a raised bed?

And we had a basketball pad when we were growing up and loved it. That would be a good choice too (the pad will also double for a base for a pool without killing grass. C; )

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

jaiharock In reply to SpringsofIyore [2015-05-25 03:44:46 +0000 UTC]

In the ground but we don't have great soil out back. And it may have been over watered under watered or the water in town was not that great last year. Had a new guy managing the plant so the chemicals might have been different.Β
