Something really eye catching.

Something that would really stand out amidst the legions of anime-related art pieces on this site.

That is the very question that perplexes me all too often.

Especially back before my view count exploded. I kept thinking "What kind of piece would catch the eye of the average deviant?"

Not to confine the very diverse and unique number of deviants to any particular cliche's, but I've found that there are 3 things that hold a very large range of appeal...

1.) Violence
2.) Controversy
3.) Sex, Sex & more SEX!!!

Something with a distinct style unlike anything that turns up in the random search engine.

I noticed you're a fan of Freakazoid! and SPAZ. I hardly see any Freakazoid! fan art. And there are a great number of F! fans out there. (Youtube will back me up on this.)

And SONIC THE HEDGEHOG ART is very popular. My bro specializes in Sonic art and he's amassed over 500,000 views.

As for myself, I've found that my controversial,violent, and semi-sexual Sonic art is among my most popular deviations.

So I guess it boils down to playing to your strengths while appealing to the largest possible demograph.

I, for one, am not really all that interested in only playing to what my audience wants. Hence the reason why I try to obstain from the fields of #3. Mainly because it goes against my personal beliefs and/or wants/desires.

I have some sonic art—but none of it worth uploading. As is the same for freakazoid.
