Pardon me, but I would like to ask a re-ask a question I asked you a little over a year ago. I posted a picture of a character that was supposed to be very loosely based on the state of Virginia. You left a comment asking if they were a troll OC, and when I asked why you said this, you responded with, and I quote;
"Coming from someone who's lived in the state of Virginia all of her life, I find this offensive. A hella ton more research is needed.
And what's up with her name? Like, seriously. .-."
I gave you a response, explaining the characteristics, and I asked why a character I made would offend you. I have not heard any form of response, and I would like a better understanding of what exactly was so offensive about the character so I do not repeat this mistake with any of my future characters.

i really do have to say that i'm not all that into hetalia anymore ?? but from my own research of virginia for the purposes of making an oc (which i never did because i fell out of aph) i can share a little knowledge ; v ;
i really don't think that you should heavily base her on the countries that have had an interest in the virginia area, because she'd be more than that tbh.
i'll separate this into a few different sections yeah?
appearance
when it comes to an oc's appearance, you have to factor in the environment, the native peoples , the people who came there, history and even hobbies of the people there today. native americans, the spanish, the german, irish, other hispanics, and some asians are all people who contribute into the makeup of the ethinicty of virginia. don't be afraid to make her skin darker, you know? i'm not saying you have to, but caucasians actually are not the majority.
why is her hair white? it isn't a natural occurring colour. i suggest giving it a more natural colour, maybe some sort of brown or dirty blonde.
green eyes aren't too bad, but why are they green, y'know? like, you can use stuff from the environment of virginia to base her eye colour. for example, virginia was a highly agricultural based state for a long time, but now it's taken a turn for the more ,, technological sort? machine chips, internet, etc.
it may not be the best site, but i suggest you read through the virginia wiki on wikipedia at least? don't just copy and paste things either.
name
i understand that you were trying to reference the big countries that were in the virginia area, but she wouldn't be given their last names, or even america's last names. as far as the first name goes, it depends on which nationality you're working for. julia is fine if you're working more towards a german, but you have to remember that the genetic make up of this place isn't full of a lot of germans. a lot of the caucasians here have that in their background yes, but there are also a lot of other people to base on. african americans, hispanics, asians, that sort ! also, for her last name, i suggest maybe looking into the history of virginia more? look for people who have had a big influence on the area and try some of those last names.
likes, dislikes and desc.
please, don't base her on prussia. please. i understand having a favourite character and all but basing your oc on that character is never a good idea, whether it be with looks or the bio.
as far as likes and dislikes go, research. research things about the state, hobbies, hell man even some of the stereotypes about this place that i have heard of are p much true. virginia has angry drivers, a lot of pride in themselves, and pretty every one and their mother has been to luray caverns. boating, swimming, fishing and hunting are all really big things for people in the this state, so don't be afraid to make her kinda outdoorsy ya know?
really the number one way to go about making a good oc is to research, research and research more. they're not just ocs, they represent real places and real people.
