# About me

Our group is for supporters of the theory of evolution and the scientific method. We accept art related to evolution, anti-creationism, anti-intelligent design, Charles Darwin, biology, genetics, dinosaurs, and other paleontology subjects. In addition to artwork, we encourage discussion and debate on our monthly topics. We do not oppose religion in general unless it interferes with science.

I'm looking for a DA member who has some scientific background in genetics to help me provide a little scientifically valid "color" to a visual novel I'm working on. I don't necessarily need someone with a PhD or anything, but hopefully someone who is either a student in a life sciences area that involves genetics, or even better a grad student. I have a reasonable layman's understanding of the field but probably just enough to get me in trouble. The VN is a sci-fi lite story involving a genetic change that occurs, perhaps triggered by a virus, unlocking physical and neural enhancements in dormant "junk DNA". Needing someone to help me add enough background science so that it passes scrutiny by the typical reader/gamer.

Anyone interested who could help?

Hello, DeviantArtists! I'm DasGnomo, the new Community Volunteer of the Design and Interfaces gallery. I'm currently open for DD suggestions in that area and Official Guidelines have been already uploaded to this journal:  Design And Interfaces DD Guidelines💪😎✌️ Powerful hellos to everyone! I'm @DasGnomo and I'm the Design & Interfaces Community Volunteer at @communityrelations, I'm in charge to bring to your awesome attention amazing DeviantART works via: features, articles and Daily Deviations! I'm a humble illustrator and graphic designer from Chile living in the US. I've been working on these areas for 13 years now, I'm happy and honored to have these new responsibilities (thanks to @ekud @Moonbeam13 and @JenFruzz for trusting in me for this). I'll work hard to do my best for the community! I'm extremely grateful in advance for all the DD suggestions you'll be sending me from this day on 🙏 however there are certain objective parameters that I'll take into account at the moment of featuring a Daily Deviation.I can only take suggestions from the Designs & Interfaces gallery and all associated sub-galleries/categories.Make sure that the deviant hasn't already received a Daily Deviation within the past 6 months. FAQ #313:How can I find out if someone already has a Daily Deviation? Please send me ONE note per suggestion/artist/deviationThe artist/designer is still active on DeviantART (must be active for more than 30 days)The piece you are suggesting is not part of an ongoing contest (in such case, you should wait for the contest to end, in order to suggest it)The piece you are suggesting is not infringing DeviantART Copyright PoliciesPlease, let me know if you want to remain anonymous as a suggester; if you don't specify I will assume that you want your name listed on the DD feature. Please only send your suggestion to ONE community volunteer. Here is the list of all the CV's and the galleries they are in charge to feature. You can self suggest (explaining why you deserve to be featured in your note. Also, avoid the spam) and try to give preference to other artists as well.I'll list here some objective characteristics of a DD worthy Design & Interfaces deviation: High QualityOriginality/UniquenessFunctionality/Problem SolvingExcellent use of the basic elements of Design and InterfacesSend me a note with the Title: "DD SUGGESTION" with ONE suggestion only. Don't suggest by comments.Include the deviation's :Thumbcode: in the noteClick SEND. And that's it! 👍I won't necessarily answer to all the DD suggestion notes since sometimes they are too many to keep count, so featuring your suggested DD will remain as a surprise.Any suggested deviation can also be feature in futured journals, being a DD or not. So keep suggesting deviations, please.Remember to check today's Daily Deviations!Fav, comment and share this journal with your friends! 😘

I humbly invite you to check it out, if you got any amazing deviation in mind to be suggested, please send me a note.

Also, I want to invite you all to Mrs-Durden 's "I Challenge You" 2019's edition activity for a chance to win amazing prizes like 1 year core membership, points and more! Get in the "Design and Interfaces" category and you'll be receiving very interesting and great challenges from me! ;D

I Challenge You: 2019 EditionDear all,
The veterans among you may remember a huge challenge competition I first launched back in 2015 called "I Challenge You". The first time around, the premise was that deviants were paired up and would give each other a challenge to be completed within a deadline, for a chance to win a prize as a duo or trio. The second time around, each participant was assigned a Community Volunteer who would give them a challenge to be completed.
If you're curious, you can go look at the old journals here and here. The second edition blew up almost immediately, if I recall we had around 300-400 sign-ups. Well, it's been years and it's time to bring back this challenge game again! I'll try to make it happen once per year, hence why this is "2019 Edition"
The idea explained in a few wo

I'll be waiting for you all and have an amazing day today!

I used to believe in creation much more than evolution. I used to think evolution was just some dumb theory. But now that I’ve faced the evidence, evolution is more than just “a theory.” It’s beautiful and outstanding and it explains how life came to be in all of its glory. I am very interested in this group. Would you mind if I joined?

Now, now guys, don't just reprimand him, provide a verse. Although in this case, the entire chapter is needed. When in Genesis, the word "yom" is said, it means "day" ONLY A 24HR DAY. There is no mistaking that the earth was made in six days. So... um... yeah. I know u wrote this years before but yeah.

What sort of eels are you after?

The earliest radiation of eel-like stem-Anguilliformes are from the lower Cenomanian Sannine Limestone, Lebanon (Abisaadia hakelensis, Anguillavus mazeni, Anguillavus quadripinnis, Luenchelys minimum, Urenchelys germanum)

The earliest crown-group anguilliform in the fossil record is probably Nardoechelys robinsi  from the Santonian-Campanian Calcari di Melissano, Italy which is generally accepted as early member of the living Ophicthidae (snake-eels).

Members of living eel genera make their appearance in the Eocene = eg. Anguilla ignota from the Messel Shales, Germany Echelus branchialis from the London Clay and Nettastoma belgica from the Lede Formation, Belgium.

TalithaChristian In reply to goatrex [2017-06-05 23:36:45 +0000 UTC]

Because it's the absolute truth. God really did create heaven and earth. Only men suppress the truth in unrighteousness to deny the obvious. Everything is so intricately designed. Each animal brings forth after it's own kind. Evolution and the theories it gives for origins have already been disproven, and even some non-Christian scientists testify to how unscientific this theory is.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day. And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Every living creature brought forth after it's own kind, just as we see today. (Elephants brought forth elephants, men brought forth men, and apes brought forth apes.) What we do not see today is any proof of evolution from one species to another. We neither see this happening on earth today, nor in the fossil records. Real science is observable.

Evolution isn’t just pop! A new species every day. It is a slow and gradual process, that takes time. You are not explaining it right at all. Heh, meanwhile while you believe creation, you probably go to the doctors to get a flu vaccine or something. Why do we do that? Because the flu virus EVOLVES every year. That’s why every year we get a new vaccine. It keeps changing. Preach all you want, you won’t change me.

The last Pterosaur I uploaded (Douzhanopterus) was an exact mix of early Rhamphorhynchidae & later pterodactyloid characteristics. The fossil record is bursting with link species but there are none as blind as he who refuses to see. The average length of Elephants’ tusks has halved in my lifetime due to natural selection. The peppered moth turned from light grey to black during the Industrial Revolution but since the Clean Air Act has slowly returned to light grey due to natural selection. In just three weeks I produced a new subspecies of aphid that became totally immune to a particular pesticide I was using thanks to natural selection so just open your eyes & think. Trust in science because it created the airliners that you fly in; the turbine blades operate at a higher temperature than was used to cast the blades in the first place but science found a solution(If you don’t trust scientist you shouldn’t fly). The same DNA science that says that there is only 1.2 difference between human & chimp DNA is used by law enforcement throughout the developed world, if you believe that the science is wrong then you must also believe that law enforcement has committed a crime comparable to the Holocaust! You can’t cherry-pick science without looking like a hypocritical idiot so just trust there are people out there that are a lot smarter than both of us and they are called scientists.
