Can I join!? My father's side of the family is French-Canadian and completely in denial about their native heritage.

It's kind of ironic because they look really METIS.

I'm not!^_^
Everyone at my school either thinks I'm Puerto Rican or Italian.

I'm Métis too, on my dad's side. They're the same way!

Being Métis in Quebec used to be looked upon as a shameful thing, even worse than being fullblood. The times have changed, but not all the attitudes have, unfortunately.

I hate how in denial they are, but part of me can't blame them because they really don't know much about their heritage anyways.I can see how their parents would have just wanted them "to pass."
I kinda feel bad for them, you shouldn't have to be ashamed of yourself no matter what you are.
