Its been a while since my computer was up. My new tablet seems to work well enough. I have to get back driving in a few hrs though. How're your projects going?

My main focus for over a year has been on a webcomic called "Beyond the Demon Star". To my increasing amazement, nothing seems to have derailed the development, and I've been able to get everything done generally as planned. I haven't tried to rush anything, haven't cared about the trying to please anyone else, just concentrated on getting it done, creating what's needed for background, details, concept art, notes, etc....
So, I must admit that particular project is going very well, and for me, that's a first. Every other major project that I've gotten into previously that was similar fell apart in some way, screwed up by others that I depended upon, or I lost interest because of too many real life problems that exhausted me.
Maybe I'll actually get somewhere with this one. *crossing fingers*

Sounds like work, but also like fun. If you are doing what you love, everyone will want to see. Are you going to publish it when it reaches a certain point?Β
Never tried coordinated projects myself, but from the looks of them, getting everyone on the same page can be awfully tricky.Β
Good luck with it!

Well, this webcomic project is just me all by my lonesome. I've been in too many projects which failed due to other people not living up to their promises.
Definitely the project is like work, but yeah, fun too. My wife is supportive of it, but we both consider it a bit of a gamble due to the investment required, and not knowing for sure whether this will pay off in some way later on. I'm going to avoid the usual T-shirts and coffee cups stuff that a lot of other webcomic creators get into selling. Better to aim for something a bit different.
I've started putting webcomic pages online since New Year's Eve last year, only been there since then and there's not a lot there yet. I won't advertise much though until I have a great many pages done. There has to be enough for a story that can pull people in, no point advertising until point is reached. I'm considering starting all the promotions once the first chapter is done.
Thanks for the encouragement. (^_^)

Truck is down, in the shop getting a heater motor. I'm stuck in a motel 8 in SD, doofing around on the computer. Reading webcomics. Inserting my worthless opinions on any forum that tickles my fancy. Making demoto to posters. Flirting with the lobby lady. Researching conspiracy theories. Isn't it odd that if you dig deep enough into any subject, you start hitting conspiracy theories? Try it.

Fired from driving a bus - for a variety of reasons, most of them Bull$#!*, and am driving a truck again. I did in fact break down and get a computer - HP POS that processes pretty slowly, but it might work to abridge - maybe. I get almost no time to use it - as this job is out days and weeks at a time with no break. And when I do get a break, I'm usually got days worth of backlogged tasks to do. I haven't even been on youtube in forever. I suppose I can't complain to you about overwork, however, considering your plateful++ of stuff. How' school? Still overclocking your workload chip by 3x? (I tried to lean on your little sister to get you abridging again, but she wasn't having any

I actually graduated about two weeks ago, been chillin' since then. Got laid off from my gig at the radio station so they could replace me with an intern, so now I'm working for Braums. The work is crap but the pay is good and the managers seem pretty nice so far. I'm also doing some contract work for a lady who does safety videos; it's good supplement to my income at the least and I can work at more or less my own pace. Was planning on doing another short film before school ended, but various things got in the way of that, and now I don't have a camera so I gotta save up for one before I start filming again. Been thinking about trying my hand at a novel again now that I've got time, and maybe start going back to Tai Chi or take up fencing, which I just learned they teach in this town. Either way, I gotta start moving again because I've gained a lot of weight. XD Parents are getting divorced; dad's gone bat-shit crazy and mom's mellowed out significantly, but I'm living on my own now so I'm somewhat removed from the problem.

Sucks about your parents. Have they tried counselling? That can work. So can travel, I'm told. Tai Chi is always good, but if you take up fencing, I shall be forced into making Dumas jokes, involving the 3 musketeers and Cardinal Richelieau etc. A guy with a gunfighter's name, using a sword? Still, it's a useful skill to have. If you do write a novel, I will immediately begin pestering you to work on a sequel - because that's what fanboys do, pester artists. It'll be good practice for later in your career. XD. Running or jogging is best for weight control, but there are a few dietary suppliments out there that work fairly well too. Nuero trim works decently, all told. Pricey little bugger, tho. So, did you get that underground fortress from which to plan and scheme and build your robot army of conquest? Or something prosaic like a studio apartment and roomates? That would make world conquest a bit difficult, I'd think. I don't have a voice recorder, but I suspect I could get one if you need voice actors for your next abridged series, or comedy piece, or what have you. Cheers!

Why don't we continue this in email? It's more conducive to long chats. My email is still the same, but I don't remember what yours is.

True enough, and I do put creative credit down, whenever it's present, or the site where I find a piece. There are a lot of images floating around the internet. I don't always catch it all, but I do try. The laws seem to change constantly, too. "Proper permission", "shared intellectual property", "fanart", "public domain", and "fair use" further complicate the issues. I suspect some of the images I can't find a name for are from overseas, where copyright laws are different. just to point out some of the issues involved. I'm in it for the lols anyway, not to make waves or $.
