Yeah, I don't have normally developed social skills so I never really understood this whole desire to have everyone approve of me. I tend to say what I think, no filters. It doesn't make me too many friends, but I figure I just weed out the weak that way. Adding to that, I'm a studying anthropologist so I've had three years of being "defamiliarized" with my own culture so now I don't get bothered by things most people find taboo. I tend to forget most people aren't like that... Oops.

I'm glad somebody thinks so! My Mother frequently tells me I need to be more "lady like" something I have never had aspirations to do. I'm from the American South and we've held onto some of those traditional values. In some ways this is great, but fuck being lady like!
See I never had the high school desire to be liked by my piers bc in middle school apparently they all got together and decided I was going to be the kid everyone picked on. So by high school I had developed a pretty serious case of "fuck all y'all". lol I wore black fish net and wore black eye makeup that would do Adam Lambert proud. By that point most people knew better than to cross me. Also most of the teachers loved me, so I always won in the end.

what does she want, for you to wear frilly dresses and frolick around making tea and biscuits?
My mum did the same with me, said I needed to be more girly, so I went OTT and started to re-enact scenes from clueless HA
american south traditions, like what? didnt know you had traditions xD
arah you were one of the mosher kids at school who just didnt care I was also the mosher kid, except I cared abit, cared enough to get into fights and so on, its amazing how much people are scared to start with someone who is different
π: 0 β©: 1
BdelliumOnyx In reply to chaoticsam [2011-09-02 23:21:23 +0000 UTC]
Not exactly frilly dresses but I have always hated skirts and heels and have lived in jeans and leggings. She'd love me to go the church with her in a nice sundress, nude pantie hoes and heels. Which isn't happening. EVER.
Yeah, the South actually held on to a lot of old, European traditions. We're known for our manners and hospitality. When someone is at your house it's rude not to offer them something to eat and drink and we will get offended if you don't take it. Things like that. Hell, my family has wine and cheese before dinner which I didn't know was unusual until I was in my teens.
I was sort of vampire chic. I wore a lot of black, I love silk and satin and lace. I'm also pale as paper so I looked like I might feed on anyone who got too close. I never got into fights - when you're only 4"11 physical altercations probably won't go your way. I just used words. I have a gift for being able to pinpoint people
s insecurities. I made a lot of bitches cry.

well thats understandable, heels and dresses arent exactly the most comfortable things to wear jeans ftw!
But meh dresses and so on, isnt why my mum doesnt think im lady like, I wear dresses everyday... its more of the way I act and talk, im pure filth APPARENTLY!
oh wow, sounds civilized, here in england, if you want a drink, you know where the kitchen is and your welcome to help yourself to the fridge ahaha
I think being able to verbally hurt people is better than phsically doing it, sadly where im from, it was either fight or... well get beaten up... didnt have much of a choice!

Same here. There are a lot of sailors in my family and I learned a good many words from them. I'm very parshel to "shit" and "fuck". I also sit like a man, according to her. I also tend to be pretty vocal about my interest in men.
It is civilized - a little backward though. We're very big on polite manners. It's horribly rude to call someone older than yourself anything but "sir" or "ma'ma".
Well, American bullies have gotten creative in their bullying since the rules are pretty well enforced on physical bullying. Now they just ruin your life and sun you. Fun times.

sorry for late reply, been so busy lately, have shoot after shoots
anyways! ahaha sailors are potty mouthed, its no wonder you have such a high fuck and shit count
I know alot of people in the army myself, its not swearing they are known for here sadly, its there inapproapiate games and gestures.
I... dont think Id last very long where you are, I couldnt call anyone sir or ma'ma... not unless they called me duchess awesome!
sounds grim, bullies hear are just amusing, they shout goth at me and I say "congrats, you stated the obvious. heres a gold star for your intelligence!" then they shut up and walk away

It's ok! I had a ton of computer issues anyway.
Yeah, I'm kind of an artist when it comes to expletives! Mother doesn't approve.
I had those manners drilled into me. I don't mind it. For the most part, I like things being a bit more formal. I worked in a school with little kids and I was "Miss Evangeline". I like having waiters and clerks call me "miss". And I can't help calling my professors and other adults "sir" and "ma'ma".
Ha! Yes, most bullies are stupid and mean. But the girls - oh the mean girls - they're horrid. They're the ones you have to watch out for!

same, if you count...dropping your laptop from a great height issues... whoops!
mothers are there to disapprove its how us people carry on making new and creative expletives heh
well, if I can offer you any advose, if you're wanting manners anywhere abroad, I wouldnt come to england we are just disgraceful! The only time we have manners is when someone gives you a cup of tea!
mean girls, hmm kinda thankful we dont really have those here, we have chavs, who are just mean to everyone...

I got a virus and had to have my whole PC wiped to get it off. Fun. And then my car broke down. Not a good week.
lol So very true.
I'd say if you want manners that are acceptable in any western country, come to the Southern Eastern Seaboard of America. We keep our society polite and we don't much appreciate people who don't act accordingly! lol
What's a "chav"?
