Hi! Sorry for al little add, but I'm supporting awesome artists on dA
AWESOME ARTISTS #2:iconsaysplz: Hellu!~
Next week, next dose of really awesome in my opinion artists! You can see the previous awesome journal HERE~
If you know any awesome artists that deserve more attention - just give me a sign in a comment below or in a note and if I'll like them too I will post them in the next awesome journal!
Today I want to support 9 amazing artists
I'll post them in the order from the oldest to the youngest dA member - just to be fair
 :iconequitariuum:
Just one of that deviants that I accidentally found during one of my aimless exploration of DeviantArt
The proof that men can do creative and nice-looking crafts too!
I'm not into this type of DIY but I think that's amazing and one
If somebody need to support - feel invited!

COuld anyone help me figure out what's wrong with my journal? Basically the directory I've inserted in the header is all wonky and I can't figure out why.

dumptext.com/2YQnfQXA <---- I've attached the complete code here, if anyone is willing to test it.

and here's a rough idea of how the ddirectory Should look: i.gyazo.com/258aeed1a97dcf09fb…

Is there a way to edit the featured folder background image gallery skin? I can add backgrounds inside folders just not for the main gallery page.

There's no such a way currently, as far as I know. If you don't use some third-party scripts and applications (though they'll change the appearance just for you).

Hi friends! I do web development in my spare time, and i've always wanted to make stuff for deviantart. Is there a basic guide or some online editor for those who aren't core members?

I personally haven't come across much of anything like that. I generally google what it is I'm trying to do and add "on deviantart" and that's worked about 60% of the time lol.

Hey everyone. ^^

I just made my first journal skin with css yesterday.

But since I've never worked with css before but only html, I'd have some questions, since some things just won't work and the preview and final result don't look the same at all.....

Would there be someone in this group that could help me perhaps?

Journal skins are only available to Core members.  Since you aren't, the code gets ignored.

I'm looking around for someone who can help me make a journal css for my group, . So far I can't find anyone to help me and I'm more than willing to commission people and pay. Does anyone here have the ability to help me out here? It'd be appreciated.

I'm sorry, but I do not know who is currently accepting commissions.  There is a Provider's List on eCSSited however it is likely not up to date.  The entire CSS community has been quiet more recently.  Good luck with your group's CSS!

Hi, sorry to be back with another question, but I was hoping someone might be able to help me understand why the custom boxes on one of my groups have compressed without any changes to the coding?

They currently look like this.

I have tried to contact the help desk but am getting what seem to be automated replies

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

gillianivyart In reply to MaichoMod [2016-09-10 07:08:15 +0000 UTC]

It looks compressed to me as well.  I'm on Chrome, Windows 10.

gillianivyart In reply to MaichoMod [2016-09-11 15:31:53 +0000 UTC]

Maybe it is a Chrome issue.  Have you seen any other skins looking like this recently?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MaichoMod In reply to gillianivyart [2016-09-12 10:53:28 +0000 UTC]

No, not that I've noticed anyway.

I have another group which uses two rows of custom boxes rather than one, and has content holder boxes within those, that has not compressed. I initially thought it might have been due to lack of content holder boxes in the custom boxes, but attempting to edit that didn't change the compression.

gillianivyart In reply to MaichoMod [2016-09-16 01:40:18 +0000 UTC]

Okay, I may have a solution for you, but uncertain how it will work on your end.  From what I can tell, it is part of dA's code?  Which doesn't make sense to me as all custom boxes with the "floaty-boat" class would have this problem, and I've never encountered it before.

Edit widget, find the "floaty-boat" and after the class, add in:

style="position:relative!important;"

This should do it.  I have a screenshot of how I tested this.  I inspected the page and toggled off the conflicting line and it displayed the box properly after that.  If that doesn't work, I do not know what will because it is dA's code.  Otherwise, try doing each box as a journal entry instead.

Hi, I'm relatively new to coding and am hoping to get a bit of help with something. I've been trying to code in calendar/clock on a group custom widget and can't work it out to save my life! XD I was hoping to achieve this:

www.alessioatzeni.com/wp-conte…

but the code provided here does nothing, and I'm not sure if it's becasue I'm missing something or it's not compatible for the site?

www.alessioatzeni.com/blog/css…

Really I just want a reasonably sized clock thats simple in design, hopefully someone with more brains than me can help XD

poserfan In reply to MaichoMod [2016-07-16 15:55:35 +0000 UTC]

The jquery script is most probably not allowed by dA for simple members. Furthermore CSS3  is not fully supported.

MaichoMod In reply to poserfan [2016-07-16 15:58:00 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, is it possible to code something similar with using them? Apologies if I sound like an idiot!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

poserfan In reply to MaichoMod [2016-07-16 19:50:06 +0000 UTC]

IDNK. Most scripts are not allowed b/c they may be considered dangerous. So, it probably has to be hack of the dA CSS code. Haven't seen anything like this.

Supergroups do have a Countdown widget; so if you can adapt that code one should maybe get a working clock.

Immerot In reply to MaichoMod [2016-07-16 12:53:36 +0000 UTC]

The explanation is in header itself: "CSS3 Digital Clock with jQuery". Try to search what the jQuery is.

They're not custom boxes - they're "Featured deviation" widgets (look at the icon). Featured deviations allow users to choose the literature, and thus - to use CSS (since you can apply the journal skins to them).
