Hey I run a gaming community/film company website and I used your RSS Bot on our site map. I did give full credit to you and linked your name to this profile. I hope that is alright.

Thank you!

I do have a question(s)!

How do I make the DeviantArt thing work productively? In terms of sales or exposure?

Am I allowed to put links to where my work is sold, like on Istockphoto?

I'm a freelance illustrator, so finding new opportunities is keeping the house warm and the table...um...with food.

You seem to have a handle on things. This site is about showcasing your art and you have been doing that with your recent posts. If you with you can even sell some of your submissions through dA's own print service . This isn't worth much unless you pay for an account but it's a start. Another way to get yourself known is to sign up for dA's adCast . This lets you design an ad that dA will run to non paying members and usually it gets a lot of foot traffic. If you find yourself pressed for cash, then go around and make friends the old fashioned way. Pick a gallery that you submit to a lot. Look for other artists you think might benefit from what you have to offer.

As for putting up links. Yes! By all means promote yourself. Your next submissions just add an html tag to your other accounts, write a journal stating what your all about and how people can get in contact with you. By all means use this privilege. Many of us already do.

I know how the freelance thing works. I know how hard it can be, but so far your in the right direction. Just keep making friends and soon you'll start to bring in a crowd. You have some great work. Keep it up

I'll try to field this one- dA is a community so the more involved you are, the more people will know who you are. By all means, write a journal saying who you are and that you;re open for commissions and your rates. But people have to read your journal right? So you have to meet some people.
And you can put links for sure. Just observe common-sense etiquette.
