Wonderful. I came to appreciate icons after spending considerable time with some people in the Church of Antioch. Though I decided in the end to remain a Roman Catholic, the relationship had a considerable influence on my theology. I am glad to know the art is not dead.

Traditional Byzantine technique.
The preparation of canvas is made directly on the wood and the background is covered with leaves of gold.
Colors are egg-tembera and varnish mixed waxes.
