Not sure I can be a lot of help, i've worked in photography a long time (photolab, editing lab and portrait studio at different times in my life) but am not much of a photographer myself these days...always been better with writing then anything else, even in my broadcasting.

okay haha, I was going to do broadcasting but the uni that I wish to go to doesn't offer Photography as a part time study and they don't offer Radio Broadcast either

Broadcasting is a really tough field. It's fun, but I can't find work in it (nor did anyone in my class) and as such i wouldn't recommend it.
There are more jobs in photography ad as such is a better direction and is easier to do in your spare time as you don't require nearly as much equipment.
I do volunteer with a local tv station though, volunteer stations are a lot of fun

we only have 3 tv stations as we're a small country haha. I decided to follow my dream in photography as you don't have to work in a company, you can work by yourself and get paid in full, without GST which I think is great!!!
