I'd like to hear a pronunciation for that, seeing as how you only spelled her name.
&& even if it's said other than how I've insisted, that doesn't mean Brawl's right- because that would totally just invalidate the twelve Metroid games that say otherwise, wouldn't it?

Since I replied to you and not to the other guy, you can assume that I was saying it was the other way. Even then, if you look at the discussion, you would have seen that I left a note saying how it's pronounced. Shame you didn't see it.
Also, name ONE game that isn't the first two super smash brothers (not that the announcers sounded clear in ANYTHING they said) where they said "SAH-mus". Here's Metroid Prime 3: [link] starting at 1:38. In Metroid Other M, it said here at 3:43. The only other two times Metroid had voice acting were in Super Metroid (Opening sequence) and Metroid Fusion (NO ENTRY WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION!).
And to reply to that off topic sentence, I took the Snapshots myself, and at least my page loads. I've been waiting here for 3 minutes now, and mine loads in 3 seconds.

That's wikipedia, but this is unrelated; have a little history:
In the original Japanese, Samus Aran's name was サムス; "Samusu", with a short 'a'. Sah-moo-s (the 'u' on the end is rarely pronounced all the way), and her last name アラン "Aran" kept the short 'a' theme. The Japanese language has very few, if any long 'a' sounds; example? Atari. But getting into words, "akita", "aiwa", "aoshima" and the like all have short 'a' sounds. When translated to English, there was a single game near the beginning which pronounced her to be "SAM-us" and not "SAH-mus", although it kept the "are-ON". Later, they went back to "SAH-mus", but changed "are-ON" to "AIR-in", and then in the latest games have changed the English pronunciation to "SAM-us AIR-in" altogether. It's still pronounced SAH-mus in every other language, however; it's faulty English dubbing that's to blame.

The Smash Bros. characters' names in five different languages. Every language aside from English says "SAH-mus".

In Japan, Sonic's name is somewhere along the lines of Sonikku and Olimar is along the lines of Orima. Should we pronounce it like that here, maybe have a whole switch at once?

You seem to be missing the point.
In Japan, Sonic's name is still Sonic in Japanese- it's not Sonikku. The same goes for Olimar. They're spelled and pronounced the same, too; to the best of everybody's ability, even here. What I'm saying is that pronunciations shouldn't change because of a dubbing error, and words and names should be said the way they were originally meant to be.
Actually, the Brawl video was more of a snub to be rude to you than anything else, but I have to admit it came in handy.
