In-depth (wip): as the daughter of Princess Twilight and Discord, Amity has taken both their titles being the Princess of Friendship and Spirit of Disharmony which puts her in a difficult position. Chaos is a natural part of life and as such is necessary but it conflicts with her abilities as a Princess of Friendship and her own personality. Amity is far too relaxed and motherly to cause chaos and is looking for a substitute to take over the role of Chaos Bringer.
Amity lost her mother long ago in the year of 4089 B.A in the Great War of the Golden Plains against the Changeling Army, led by the Queen Changeling. In the war Princess Twilight was killed and while it is difficult to kill an alicorn, it is not impossible. She then lost her father Discord sometime during the Annulled Time, when he used himself to seal away Princess Celestia who had gone mad after the death of her sister Princess Luna. It was during that year that Princess Cadence was killed and her kingdom destroyed by the enraged forces of Spurnia who believed she was involved in the assassination of Princess Luna.
Because of all the loss they had both suffered, she grew very close to Princess Flurry Heart who took over as Princess of Love after her mothers death. Both of them raised and cared for Princess Celestia's young foal and both took shifts raising and lowering the moon and sun until the foal was old enough to do so herself. Amity is aware of another alicorn out there as she can sense the magic they give off. She also knows there will be chaos and upheaval in the near future that will cause old magic to re-awaken.
Other facts
Using her magic she can help others bond and form friendships from the confines of her families castle, using a magic crystal to see into the outside world.
Amity had the gift of foresight, giving her visions of the future.
