Description
You waved goodbye to the guests from the neighborhood that came over to welcome you to your new home. You forced yourself to keep the smile on your face until you knew they were gone, then turned away from the door, closing it as you let the frown out that you had kept inside. You hated parties, but you were the best host anyone could ask for. It almost made you cry from your laughter at how contradicting it was. They just wanted to welcome you to the neighborhood. You sighed, bending and cleaning up the floor of empty cups and plates and such. You grabbed the remote, turning off the T.V. as you walked past to the kitchen. It took you almost an hour to clean up the mess everyone left behind. You sighed in relaxation as you fell onto your bed, pajama bottoms and a tank on, ready to fall asleep. You curled up into a ball, feeling the exhaustion from keeping up appearances catch up with you.
You lay there, thinking about nothing, hearing the ticking of your clock. A car passed by. You changed your position, getting comfy. You lay there a few more minutes, staring at nothing. You changed your position again. You closed your eyes. They snapped open, you being unable to keep them closed. You growled at yourself. You needed to sleep, now. You finally got back up a few hours later, getting restless, even though you were exhausted. you walked back out to your living room, turning on the T.V. You jumped as the sound seemed to blast from the speakers. It was then you realized why you couldn't sleep. You usually had noises.
Now there was only silence, in an empty house.
