"Of course your taking me home, you big stupid idiot!" she exclaimed, big grin on her face. She walked beside a boy around her age, grinning a goofy grin down at her. They were holding hands.

"Just making sure your parents didn't mind." he said, gazing at her as they walked down the sidewalk.

"That doesn't mean you go up to them and ask!" she said, looking up as the lightly put her head on his shoulder. He followed her gaze upward toward the afternoon sun. But, there was no sun, just lots of fluffy clouds. They slowly came to a stop in their stroll, both gazing up as they felt the first warm drops kiss their cheeks. It started to rain softly, yet they were both soaked in a few seconds. The girl separated from the boy, walking out into the grass as she held her arms out and began to just twirl. The boy stood on the sidewalk still, gazing at her as he was slowly overcome by the rain, and moved out to meet the most beautiful thing in his eyes.

She came to a stop as she felt arms go around her shoulders, head resting there. She gripped one of the arms, turning her head toward him.

"...what is it?" she whispered, her words not traveling more than a foot, yet he heard her all the same. He shook his head.

"What?" she whispered even as he slowly started to turn her toward him, until they were face to face. The rain swept their hair into their eyes, but they still stood transfixed in the others gaze, holding it as drops of water clung to their lashes and down their cheeks, and dripping off their noses. The felt the warmth of the others breath.

Then their lips met.

They didn't separate for a long while. Not until the rain stopped. They missed their movie.
