Description
This piece took me over a year to get to completion. I finished the pencil portion of it a long time ago, but it never felt finished to me for some reason. Originally a birthday present for my wife and a reimagining of a piece that I did in college, I felt really stuck. Sure, the bones were there and I had successfully recreated some of my favorite brushes with a good amount of detail, but it felt like it had no life. My wife’s birthday rolled around again this year, and it hit me like a ton of bricks. And so the oil painted splash of color was imagining and is now finished! I’m actually quite proud of this piece.
