Sonic: Shadow, time to juice!

Shadow: No! I'm not ready! I still have questions! I can't leave Maria again!

Maria: Shadow...

Shadow: ...I don't want to lose you again.

Maria: I know, but you have to go and protect everyone now. You have a promise to keep. And please don't forget, you'll always have me...

Shadow: ...if I hold you in my heart... good bye Maria.

This was inspired by a scene Archie Comics' Sonic the Hedgehog Issue 171. I've only seen screenshots of it on Twitter so I don't know the entire story but I think I have a vague enough sense of what's going on. So, in some way, Shadow, followed by Sonic and Nicole, accesses a virtual reality simulation inside a digital journal of his creator, Dr. Gerald Robotnik. Inside he reunites with his childhood friend, Maria, as well as her grandfather. While visiting the journal he learns about why he was created and what his purpose is. When the simulation starts de-fragmenting Shadow is forced to end his brief reunion with Maria and leaves her with a tearful goodbye.

I'm familiar with the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, having seen a couple of episodes from a few shows when I was younger, however it was only recently that I learned about Shadow and his role, story and involvement in the series. And yet, while he is still relatively new to me I find myself sympathizing with him concerning his relationship with Maria, having been unwillingly separated from a good friend myself, not in the same way as Shadow but it's emotionally relatable. Though I've yet to have a reunion with my friend, this scene really made an impact on me so I had to recreate it. I hope other Sharia fans can enjoy it as well.
