Description
The YG-12 Raugmal succeeds the Pachsmal Power Armor. The latter of which is a bulky combat platform originally intended for space use turned into a walking fire support platform. The Raugmal was born due to the Ghorrans needing a flexible power armor without making a borderline mech, and in decent numbers. Especially for combat against Tyrgor Remnants. Instead what ended up happening was the Ghorrans messed up what they intended and made a high performance armor. While they didn't complain about the results, the project was unfortunatly rather expensive. Rather than trash the project, They figured to try something with excellent performance rather than keep it safe with designs that are just "decent enough and mass producible".When the war with the Caracoid March Dominion came about, Raugmals proved to be a great boon in assisting infantry to hold off against Bulk Droids issued to squads with the firepower they can bring, and in general were useful for giving some extra punch in squad maneuvers, especially in urban and forested combat. Allowing PA squads to essentially be heavy-heavy infantry without sacrificing versatility that the Pachsmal lacked. Raugmal incorporates Wetware technology for interfacing and strength. Requiring a undersuit to move the armor without strain on the Operator.
On the outside, the undersuit looks akin to a jumpsuit, but beneath it are strands of artificial muscles and nerves, the latter of which interfaces with the operator with and without the armor pieces. The suit also incorporates auto tourniquets and has a autoinjector. It takes training to build sync with the interfacing, about a few months until donning the undersuit is akin to a second skin. The helmet also incorporates wetware technologies.
