Description
So I’ve seen this animatic of The Horse and The Infant and the theory that Silver could be a long lost prince, and that got my gears turning.

Basically the whole story behind this fanart is that like Odysseus in the animatic, Lilia leads a group of fae soldiers to launch a final attack on the kingdom they were at war against for years. Lilia is determined to survive this battle and return home to see Malleus.

When he makes it into the castle, he sees a vision of a dark silhouette stabbing him before disappearing. Confused, Lilia wonders what that was and is told by Malleus’s grandmother, who is using telepathy or speaking through a crow like a marionette, that that was a vision of what he is about to face in the room he is heading towards. However, Lilia is confident that he is ready, but when he enters, battle cleaver in hand, he finds an infant Silver sleeping peacefully in a crib with a golden ring on an acorn necklace.

Malleus’s grandmother warns Lilia that the boy will grow from a boy to an avenger. Fueled by anger as Lilia is consumed by age. So she gives him the impossible task to kill the child, but like the huntsman from Snow White, Lilia, being reminded of Malleus, cannot bring himself to do it and so he takes the infant with him out of the palace as his army retreats, victorious.

After that, Lilia raises Silver as his own and takes him far away from home despite knowing that one day, he might be killed by the boy.
