MISSION 1 OBJECTIVE: Launch a surprise attack on the opposite Faction! Each Faction has two seal keepers with part of a seal acts as the protection barriers to Heaven and Hell. The only way for one side to invade is if they obtain both parts of a respective seal. Only the seal keeper will know they have a part of the seal (a mod will secretly dm them the seal) and they will not know who the other seal keeper is! Seal keepers are trusted by their Faction leaders and must choose to protect their part of the seal...or they can betray their Faction. If a seal keeper is KILLED IN COMBAT by someone in the opposite Faction, the victor of the battle will obtain their part of the seal!

This is the start of Mission 1! Two major events will be released with this chapter.

For event one: How does your character feel about their assigned role? Draw a meme, a comic, or write some juicy lit about their first reaction! All art and lit, and rp for this event will receive a 1.25x bonus!

For event two: The Jade Emperor Miyan and the Demon Lord Wangxiao have recalled their subordinates for an impromptu meeting. On the way back, who does your characters meet? Are they friend or foe? Either way, remember to not let your identity slip! All art and lit, and rp for this event will receive a 1.15x bonus! Multiple entries (and multiple meetings) are permitted!

In addition, Academy RP channels have now been closed, while Mission 1 RP channels are now open. For those in the Demonic Faction, feel free to interact with your two NPC Lords and the Goddess of War. And for those in the Heavenly Faction, feel free to talk to the Jade Emperor! For all mission NPCs, be sure to ping both mods when rping with them! If your character dies during rp, be sure to ping a mod!

A rubric and NPC Guidebook has been provided by the Academy. The NPC Guidebook contains some basic facts about the NPC Faction Leaders. On the other hand, the rubric is an additional way you can earn some gems to boost your score! The gem bonuses for the rubric are only awarded once for the entire mission, and will apply to art, lit, or rp. As long as your character experiences one of the scenarios somehow, it will grant you the bonus. At the end of the mission, please send in a single note titled ‘Rubric Bonuses’ and check off all the categories they experience. In the note, please give a short description (or link) to art/lit/rp for each category!

From henceforth, only things related to Mission 1 will be calculated into your Mission 1 score. All Academy related art, lit, and rp will be calculated into your regular Academy gem balance, while Mission 1 gem calcs will be done much more discreetly (so the factions won't know which side is winning). Mods will have a spreadsheet with Mission 1 inventories that you guys won't be able to access. At the end of the mission, the Mission 1 gem balance will be added to your Academy gem balance, and the protagonist will receive a 1.1x bonus gems of their total Mission 1 gem balance. Submitting for gem calcs will stay the same though, so don't worry about it!

If you wish to betray your faction (despite the potential chance of death determined by rolling), please DM or note the mods so we will know where to put your gems. Remember, the faction with the higher combined overall gems will be the winner of the war! However, the protagonist is just the individual with the highest gem balance for Mission 1, and doesn’t have to be from the winning faction!
