Back in 2020, I did a series of images about Superman in the Marvel universe. I thought it was high time for something similar and putting a character in the world of DC. I thought about various Marvel characters to use but none felt right. So I turned to my favorite manga, Berserk. So here we have Guts in DC Part 5
Guts in DC Part 5 The Bird in the Eclipse:
After Guts left the Outlaws things went south fast, Jason became rash and reckless and committed an act that got the entire group deemed criminals by the Marokia governments and got himself captured. For the next year The Outlaws lived up to their name and were on the run form the governments agents to assassins to even monsters that hunted them down. Eventual Guts got word of the groups plight and tracked them down and joined up with them.

Together the group concocted a plan to rescue Jason. It went well but, the Jason Todd they knew was gone. during that year he had been severally tortured, his body broken down to skin and bones and even his tongued cut off. The group were left in a state of confusion unsure of what to do next. Guts thought he might leave again but was uncomfortable leaving his friends in this state. Even some of the members thoughts he should now lead the group. But Artemis heart felt told him he should keep following his path and leave again and that even though she wanted to she couldn't leave Jason with that state that he was in.

Unfortunately Jason had overheard the hole conversation and in a state of anger and delirium he ran off finding himself crashing into a nearby lake. The Outlaws chased after him but when they found him he had also found something he lost during that year the Box of the King. And as Guts reached out to help Jason the Moon covered the Sun and an eclipse began the box screamed and a portal opened. Suddenly the group was surrounded by an army of paranormal demons, Jason was separated form the group and out of the portal standing in front of the now damaged hero were five tyrants of Evil an ultimate legion of Doom. Trigon, Darksied, Parallax, and Circe, They offered Jason that he be reborn with their power and have his dreams and desired and all he had to was say the word. And so Jason feeling broken and betrayed said the words "I sacrifice." And the Red Hood became the Red Phoenix was born.
