Sweet! You included the eletromagnetic "legs" seen in only as the war machine rose from the work pit. The "Jacob's ladder" effect they attempted proved too great a risk of eletrocution (so the story goes), so they abandoned it after just a couple of shots.
Most people don't realize these things were also "tripods", just of a very, very high tech variety.
