Mariposa got her fan when she lets her stepsister, Primrose take over her place in the Beauty Pageant and she won in her place. After Mariposa found out that her stepsister became the now beauty queen, she was given a peacock fan as a gift and it also let out a rainbow glow.

Well, it started like this:
A famous artist name Paint Cavnes came to Ponyville and announce he's looking for a assistant for one week. Creative became so excited about this, she volunteer to be his assistant. But Paint Cavnes became so hard to please, Creative tried hard to earn his respect. She been working so hard to please him, she losing her respect to her friends, Then she done something she should have done: giving Paint Cavnes respect. After she done that, Paint realize she has more respect then every. When the week is done, Paint give Creative his own paintbrush and let out a rainbow glow.

Mine is that Mariposa wants to be the center of attention but she was confused whether she will be the one to win or let her stepsister take in so she chose to mentor her and let her take over her place in the pageant instead.
