Just Cause is a silly game. I love it.

Here’s our protagonist, Rico, doing what he does best: blowing stuff up. Just Cause is at it’s best when it’s not taking itself seriously. The general game flow encourages you to be silly, attaching things to other things and experimenting with what chaos you can produce.

When it tries to be serious it just falls flat. The story attempts to be serious for some reason and Rico is a boring generic bearded male protagonist. But when you play as him, then he takes on whatever stupid personality you want… which is what I wanted to show here!

Just Cause 3 is my favourite of the series. It’s beautifully colourful, leans in harder to the ridiculous and isn’t as much of a generic 3rd person shooter as the others. Plus everyone thinks you’re a hero, so you get some hilarious conversations with NPCs, even while you steal their car.
