this is wonderful news....Once I saw the pours on YouTube my brain
opened up with how I could bend paint for my own enjoyment in
different cases with different results...

I do what I call Intuitive Non Objective Painting..
I ask the paint what it wants to show me, turn up
the tunz and just have a go with no preconceivedΒ
ideas or notions...PS...sometimes I just make mud....
LOL, but its my mud...big difference...

Would love to see some of your work here...
There are never any mistakes, the paintings you do are
what is already inside you waiting and wanting to be put
out on another dimension...

I did four of them already, and there are a couple that I like betterΒ
than the other two, but I am having a lot of fun experimenting.

That is a good term. My paintings definitely went in their own direction
and came up with some magical images. I was so immersed in making these
paintings, that I used up all of the paint in the starter kit. But, I shall get
more.

Hope you have a great day.

Great....Experiments sometimes turn out to be really cool pieces..

You will find your favorite paints as time goes by, I try everything
on sale and if I love it I stock up..

If I ever go PRO I will buy really good canvas material, right now
for experiments I use whatever is lying around my Zen room,
bubble wrap, old floor tiles, paper bags, wax paper and plastic
wrap...I bought a high dollar canvas one time and was so nervous
about making a crap painting that I could not let the paint just
do her thing and I overworked it to the max...made a 10x12 mud
pile....LOL

You too have a wonderful day....We are in the rainy season until
Friday when it promises to snow on top of all the rain...

I did about four paintings and used up all the paint I had
from my starter kit. Two of them worked out to my satisfaction
and the other three are so-so.

I tried various colors, but I found that with my favorite paintings,
I used the primary colors with black and white. I can't seem toΒ
muster-up any cells (and I did use silicon) but I know I need toΒ
practice some more. I have decided to backtrack and try cheaper
paints and flow mix (like Elmer's glue) and use the Dollar Store toΒ
buy my material. I agree when I become a Pro, then I will go afterΒ
the more expensive paints. I can relate to "mud paintings" I haveΒ
created a lot of those in the past while using brushes. Β

Have a good day!

From my own experience, I mix my colors with Floetrol ,Β acrylicpouring.com/acrylic-pou…

There are lots of tuts on youtube about silicon and floetrol also....

I also need a bigger Art Room now for sure...I used to be quite organized, ok, maybe a little organized, but
I like all my supplies within an arms length so if I get an urge for a splash of orange, I don't have to stop
and look for it...I just reach over to the shelf and grab it...

When I started painting a few years back, I loved India Ink on white Rice paper for bold strokes andΒ
satisfactory images...I get the Rice Paper in a roll at Hobby Lobby, not too expensive at all, and India
Ink is pretty cheap too....

Have a great time, and remember there are NO mistakes in art....

Thanks for the link and the tips. I will have to give floetrol
a try. I wanted to create some big cells like the ones I see in
videos, but didn't have to much success.Β

I too need a much bigger space where I can have all my supplies
within reach. I think it would also flow better if I prepared all ofΒ
the materials beforehand.Β

Wow, cool. I really like the concept of India Ink brushstrokes on
rice paper. Those kind of paintings are one of my favorite types
of art.

You too have a great time in return, and it makes me feel goodΒ
about hearing "no mistakes in art." I do love "happy accidents"
in art.

You are very welcome...

I see on youtube many times they do alot of prep work
before they even pour...

I would need more roomΒ

My room is a depository of 3 boom boxes, 2 tower speakers, all my work
I have ever done, all my paint, etc...My little pigpen.....LOL

Bundle up--it's gonna be along wait!

Now that the rest of the country has had winter, we here in western South Dakota will get ours.Β  Winter storm warning for tonight through Thursday night.Β  Forecast says 3-5' of snow but it's always more.Β  We get our snow in March and April--usually in 3-5" increments but sometimes a couple feet at a time though it's still nothing compared to the white blanket you've endured so I'm not complaining too much I've made sure the snow blower is serviced and my boots are dry and ready by the door

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

33M In reply to Corvidae65 [2019-03-07 04:10:56 +0000 UTC]

I did get the warning this morning while doing my deviation,
4 inches total by Sunday night, winds, ice, rain and snow...blah blah blah.....LOL

Where are you in Western SD...I love running that whole area from Sturgis to Devils Tower
alot...but have only done it in the winter one time...Usually go late Sept and October
after all the tourists go back home...

Anyway, I will be thinking of you all out there, stay warm and dry....

I always hate it when I find out all the great things about a person
after they are no longer on this earth anymore....

I should read deeper about people while they are alive...
but we never think that people we like or admire will
someday not be here...we always think we all have so
much time left.....Β
