Sarah paused. The theory that we were all living in a simulation had been around for a long time now, but while no one could prove it completely, there was enough there for some to approach reality from a different viewpoint. If reality were a simulation, it could be hacked. Reality hackers had become more than a nuisance since then, and poor coding skills would often leave bugs in the code of reality. And that's where Sarah came in. It was her job to debug reality...

This particular bug was nasty. She tried her best to get rid of it, but it seemed to have just disappeared. All her firewall warnings lit up, then went silent. That was good, wasn't it. No warnings meant she wasn't under attack by the bug any more, and the bug seemed to be gone. She felt strange, though. In the back of her mind, she felt like there was a voice screaming something at her, but she couldn't make it out. Whatever. One thing she knew was that this bug had been a bad one. She had code handy, though she couldn't quite remember where it came from. She had to install it in as many people as she could find. For their own safety, of course. She couldn't allow a bug like this to spread. No, not at all...
