I keep repeating, "I'm an Visual Artist that was too afraid to be an artist, so now I'm drawing myself as a comic to become the Main Character."

But, reality is, I am yet to draw this comic. I'm getting stuck in Character creation. Stuck in wanting to know all the details before I write the story. (yes, I know it's fear, working on it)

I know the magic is in the doing. In taking action in the messy middle. Breathing through the discomfort. But it's hard to change. It takes time to reWrite my story by rewiring my brain.

It's hard to shake the people pleasing tendencies, to be exactly who you are, and take up space after a lifetime of making yourself small.

So, for now, I'm hanging out in the Main Character Energy through self-portraits. Im trying it out and giving myself permission to be all of me. To shine with my entire capacity.

And remember my amazing role models. I just need to remember all that I learned from them.

I grew up with a mom who hunts bear, has a license to sail icebreaker ships and like to knit wool sweaters with colorful patterns. She taught me how to find my own way in life.

My grandfather was an inventor who created his own world, and my grandmother, ahead of her time, traveled the world, was an entrepreneur, and a textile artist.

I was trying to find what box I fit into. I don't think there is one.
I just have to keep wandering and see where I end up. And learn to be comfortable in the uncomfortable. Learn to love the journey.
