Description
Hello DevArt. Finally registered after years of lurking around ^^.0.5 mechanical pencil on 65x50cm paper. Various inspirations but no ref used. Started back in 2004, and worked on it little by little. It's the only thing I drew in almost 3 years, and it's also my first serious try at a background, so any comment/critic welcome!
-"ageha" is "swallowtail butterfly" in japanese
- the white lily in her hair is a symbol of purity
- the volubilis in her hand is a symbol of lost hope
- make your own story

I live in Japan and see manga art everyday (and actually don't like it much), but I don't see anything quite this amazing. 3 years? It shows. Just, excellent.

There is good manga art, but most of it crap; it seems that manga-style art by non-Japanese artist is much better.

This is absolutely like the greatest thing that I have ever seen a person create. This is magnificent and beautiful. Every little detail from her hair to the tree bark on the side is precise. I just have to keep looking at this. I don't see any errors in this piece.
