I will die on this hill, I think Balan Wonderworld is a good game. It wasn’t without its flaws, mind you, but the clever level design that forces you to be creative in your puzzle solving and rewards you for exploring outside the box. It’s as easy or hard as you want it to be.

I feel that the story is rather special as well. I wish the game had been a little more fleshed out, but it is my understanding that Square Enix really dropped the ball for this game. It makes me really sad because I believe Balan deserved more than that.
