Description Rachel: Chapter seventeen
"The End"

There was a bright light at first. She had to blink a few times before the light slowly showed itself to be a hanging lamp.

   “Elli!”

She slowly turned her head to see Lisa beaming down at her. She stared at her for a long moment, blinked a few times then spoke, “...Lisa?” Her voice was thick and rough, “Where are we?” She asked looking around.

“The nearest hospital we could find. How do you feel?”

She tried to sit up, Lisa helped her. She winced a little, grabbing her side, “Awful.”

   Lisa smiled, “Better than dead.”

Elianna took another look around, realizing they were alone, “Where are the others? Are they alright? Is Haili-”

“Calm down, yes they are all okay. Haili is in the room next door and she is going to be fine.”

Elianna dropped her shoulders, letting out a sigh of relief, “What about the rest of the team? Dani, Taylor and Rix.”

Lisa smiled, “You won’t believe it but they apparently got into the prison that was holding Fairy Tail and managed to break them all out!”

Elianna’s eyes widened, “They did what?”

“We just happened to be super badass in the face of certain doom, no biggy.” A voice rang from the doorway. Both Elianna and Lisa turned their heads to see Dani there, acting as cocky as ever. Taylor appeared from behind her and smacked the back of her head.

“Ow!” She hissed. Taylor just smiled and walked in.

   “How you feel?”

Ellianna smiled, “Good, though I am actually really curious how you three managed that.”

All three of them walked in, Rix trailing in from the back, “Well first off we were captured and transported to the prison where we met an old friend of yours. Tim.”

“Tim?” Lisa and Elianna said in chorus.

Dani nodded, “He helped us escape. Rix was able to get a general lay out of the whole place so it was easy to navigate without getting caught, and if when we did we just kicked their ass.”

“But how did you get every single guild member out?”

“It’s a cell full of the strongest and most pissed off mages in all of Fiore, how do you think we got out?” Taylor said.

Elianna couldn’t help but laugh a little at that.

“But yeah, when we made it back to Magnolia there were tons of tears, everyone was hugging everyone else, blah blah blah.”

Lisa rolled her eyes and turned back to Elianna, “They showed up not too long after you defeated Cral. They they also led us to the villagers that were hiding out in the cathedral.”

Elianna looked at her still lingering on the first thing she said, “...How...How did I actually defeat him?”

   “Do you not remember?”

Elianna shook her head, to which Lisa just smiled, “You used all the magic you had cooped up inside of you to destroy his scythe, which had been what was holding him together.”

Elianna stared at her then looked down at her hands, “You mean, my magic is back?”

Lisa smiled, “It sure looks like it.”

Elianna stared at her, then lowered her eyes back down to her hands. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, lifting one hand up in front of her face. As she reopened her eyes, she watched as her fingers slowly started to glow. Her face erupted into a grinning mess. She thought she would never be able to use her power again. She covered her mouth with her free hand afraid she was ether going to scream or cry out in joy. Her four teammates watched her smiling as she slowly let her hand stop glowing. She quickly wiped her the small tears forming in her eyes and sniffed. She then looked back up at them, and with little warning, pulled them all into a big hug.

“Ah, hugs!” Dani yelped, “I don’t do hugs!”

“Oh just deal with it.” Taylor said, making sure to keep her in the group hug. Eventually she gave in and slowly relaxed. It lasted for nearly five minutes before a thought crossed Elianna’s mind and she let go.

   “What about Rachel?”

They all went quiet and turned to Lisa to answer.

“...She left after the battle. No one knows where she went.”

Elianna slowly looked down. She knew Rachel had gone through a lot of anger and heartache in her life and that she was a large cause of it. She wanted to apologize for making her feel unwanted, and thank her for her help in defeating Cral. She let out a sigh and resorted to the hope that they would meet again someday, and hopefully on better terms.

   “...Haili….Haili….”

Haili felt a warm hand on her cheek and she opened her eyes. Aleck was looking down at her, smiling. He looked like he was glowing. So warm like sunlight.

   “You did it...You found her…”

“...Aleck?” His smile grew ever so slightly, and he helped her sit up. She stared at him, “You’re...You’re here…”

   He nodded, “Yeah.”

She felt her eyes begin to tear up, “Oh god,” She lunged forward, wrapping her arms around him tightly, “I missed you so much!”

His warm arms wrapped around her as well, “I missed you too.”

She pulled herself away so she could look at his face, tears were still streaming down her face at this point while she lifted her hand to touch his face, “How are you here?”

He reached up to grip her hand and turn his head to kiss her palm more directly, “Ghostly superpowers?”

She laughed a little at that, gripping his hand tightly. He gripped back, “I’m so proud of you, Haili.”

She felt her heart clench and she just shook her head, “She still hates me…”

“Give her time. She’s our daughter. I know she’ll come around eventually.”

Haili looked down, so Aleck lifted his hand to her chin and tilted her head up, “Don’t worry. I’ll watch over her until she is ready to come back to you.”

   “What if she never does?”

Aleck gently ran the back of his fingers down the side of her face, “Don’t think like that. Your suppose to be the crazy and optimistic one.”

Haili took a deep breath and Aleck kissed her forehead. She closed her eyes at his touch and shed more tears, missing how it felt. He then lowered his forehead to meet hers. “...I love you. I wasn’t able to say that before I died.”

Haili let out a light sob at the memory and hugged him tightly again. He hugged her back.

“I love you Haili. I love you and our daughter so much.”

She hugged him tighter, “Please don’t leave!”

“I’m not going to Haili. I’m always going to be with you, always have been always will be.”

She started sobbing more, “I love you!....”

   “Haili? Haili?”

She slowly opened her eyes to see Hikaru, Maxi and Sophie standing over her. She blinked and stared at them for a second.

“Hey, you okay?” Maxi asked, “You were talking in your sleep.”

Haili slowly nodded, “Yeah...Yeah I’m okay.”

Sophie reached up and put her hand on her forehead, “Your fever has gone down. That’s good.”

Haili slowly sat up, seeming to be in a complete daze. Hikaru narrowed his eyes a little in concern. “Nee-chan...You’re crying.”

Haili stared at him for a second then lifted her hand to her cheek, gently wiping away the single tear that had leaked from the corner of her eye. She stare at it, then looked back at her team. Then, with little warning, grabbed all of them and pulled them each into a tight hug, “...I’m so glad you three are on my team…” She said softly.

A little taken aback by her surprisingly sincere behavior they froze, but almost immediantly relaxed into the hug, each on the verge of tears as well.

   “No problem.” Maxi said smiling.

There was a knock at the door and all of them looked up to see four very familiar face, “Sorry to interrupt but-”

“Ace!” Sophie tore herself away from the group and wrapped her arms around the black haired boy. He grinned and caught her, spinning her around in the air before stopping to hug her more directly. She quickly started running her fingers through his long dark hair that wasn’t blocked by that terrible mask anymore. He closed his eyes contently, still acting slightly dog like.

Jay and Wendy were there too. Jay’s eyes sparkled just as brightly as before and Maxi couldn’t help but stare at them and smile, slowly walking over to hug him as well. Hikaru looked at Wendy who was probably the most transformed out of all of them. Her hair was still silver but her eyes remained the same. She stared at Hikaru for a moment, looked down and fiddled with her hands a little. Hikaru walked up to her, and gently lifted her chin so that she could meet his smiling face. She stared, then very slowly smiled. He then wrapped her up in his arm.

Haili watched her team reunite with their loved ones and smiled, gently touching the blue guild mark over her heart and closed her eyes. Her thoughts drifting to Aleck.

“What about Flure?” Maxi asked after a few minutes of content silence.

“She’s fine.” Jay answered, “Just resting. I don’t think she’ll ever be able to speak again though.”

“Well she never liked to talk much before either.” Ace pointed out with a shrug, to which Sophie jabbed him a little in the gut.

“At least she’s okay.” Hikaru said.

“Yeah. Everything is okay.” Haili said from her bed, and smiled at everyone, “...Everything is going to be okay now.”
