When the Ghost Zone Portal used Danny Fenton's Human Cells to activate it, a tragic mishap caused his DNA to be augmented with Ectoplasm. He did acquire ghostly abilities. He utilises his abilities to repel any ghosts from the Portal's new functionality. To his annoyance, he was given the moniker INVISOBILL by his local media.

Because the Fentons designed the Portal with travel in mind, he was given a pilot Jumpsuit. I think that their technology would rapidly advance if Ectoplasm was used as an energy source. I'm confident they're not the only ones who have noticed this new energy source.
