Description
Caihong was a genus of anchiornithid that lived in what is now China during the Late Jurassic period. The plumage coloration in this reconstruction is derived from a study of a Caihong specimen's fossilized feathers which revealed melanosomes in the feathers that would have given off iridescent hues in life.TWITTER: twitter.com/lans_snows
