False Appearance. While the Gargoyle Puppy remains motionless and in contact with a solid surface, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary stone statue.

Keen Senses. The Gargoyle Puppy has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.

Multiattack. The Gargoyle Puppy makes two attacks: one bite and one claw.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) piercing damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 3) slashing damage.

Stone Camouflage. The Gargoyle Puppy has advantage on Stealth checks made while in rocky terrain.

Actions

Petrifying Gaze. The Gargoyle Puppy targets one creature it can see within 30 feet of it. If the target can see the Gargoyle Puppy, it must succeed on a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw or be restrained for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If the target's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the target is immune to the Gargoyle Puppy's Petrifying Gaze for the next 24 hours.

Stone Lunge (Recharge 4-6). The Gargoyle Puppy lunges at a target within 20 feet of it, making a bite attack. On a hit, the target must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone and take an additional 8 (2d6) bludgeoning damage as it is pushed against a solid surface. If the surface is another creature, that creature must also make a DC 13 Strength saving throw or take the same damage.

Reactions

Stone Resilience. If the Gargoyle Puppy takes bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage from an attack, it can use its reaction to gain resistance against that damage type until the start of its next turn.

The Gargoyle Puppy is a mischievous and somewhat menacing construct, resembling a cute but eerie puppy made of stone. It is known for its ability to petrify foes with its gaze, making it a challenging opponent for adventurers exploring ancient ruins and caverns. Adjust the CR or details as needed for your campaign.
