well value village is like a second hand store, where people dump their unwanted shit... SOMEBODY DIDN'T WANT THAT COAT. Blasphemy... Sorry, I don't really know where else to get a cheap coat, just keep your eyes open at second hand stores for cheap long trench coats and you may need to modify it a bit. (this coat was all the way down to my ankles, but I cut it and sewed the bottom to fit Dib)

I cannot stand the smell of second hand stores but if it means getting a Dib coat I will do it. WHY WOULD ANYONE NOT WANT THAT COAT!? Blashpemy indeed. We don't have a value village but we do have a shit ton of thrift stores in my town. Don't mean to sound weird or anything but do you have a full length picture of your coat? *Wants to be dib for halloween but looks doesn't look androgynous enough* T_T

Sorry... they aren't that great, perhaps I'll take a picture of just the coat by itself later and send it to you, though i'm not sure when I'll get around to doing that seeing as my camera is DEFYING ME at the moment.
The coat stops just at the knees and goes up a tiny bit in the back (I did this when sewing it so it would resemble dib's coat a bit more) I notice that his coat goes up in the back ever so slightly in the pictures I've seen of him.

Another quick question, how did you do the shirt? Obviously you didn't buy it (unless you did buy it in which case, hjasdhgsdf) So did you use some sort of fabric paint on it? I'm so sorry about all the question. Don't feel like you're obligated to answer me or anything. I'm a noob at this kind of stuff.

((Until this cosplay, I was a pretty big cosplay noob too... T___T This is my best cosplay done by myself, so far... xD ))
I didn't buy the shirt completely, though I found the blue shirt itself, yet again at the second hand store for 2 bucks!
And then I went out and bought 30 dollar iron on paper (at a place such as Michaels craft store) and I was able to print out the picture of Dib's shirt and iron it onto the shirt, very stressfully because I was paranoid about screwing up xD However, I am sure you'd be able to find a cheaper version of the paper somewhere else... I just know it's called 'iron on paper' or something.
I just have bad luck when it comes to buying -shakes fist- .... PAPER!!!
The most expensive thing from my cosplay was the paper. -shiver- That HORRIBLE paper...

I had no idea there was such a thing as iron on paper. I want that so I can make a bunch on unofficial t shirts. What an awesome invention. So you can just print stuff on the paper and iron it on a shirt? I need to acquire some of that. Although I might just make Dib's shirt with fabric paint since it something I'm more familiar with. I have never used an iron in my life. The shirt would probably catch on fire. 30 bucks though? How much paper did it come with?
God the only cosplays I've done was a character from Teen Titans when I was 12 and then the Flapjack one that I have on my profile. Dib though.... that deserves some work because he's such a great character. Somehow I think he'll be a lot easier. Except that I look like a girl. Damn this face of mine.
Boots are awesome. I might have to splurge on boots if for no other reason than I just adore big clunky boots.
ANOTHER QUESTION ZOMG!!! How are your photos so clear? If there's one thing I understand even less than cosplay it's photography. Everytime I take a picture it's very fuzzy. Do I need a better camera or am I doing something obvious but I'm too retarded to realize it? I want to take good pictures this year.

Lol, I bought a shirt and am going to put an Irken symbol on the back of it and wear it around LIKE A BOSS.
Yuss, Dib is worthy of success! You can do itttt! I have faith! I did this cosplay in less than a week, and apparently people like it! You'll do awesomely I am sure! 8)
The only thing that took a little while was the wig, and that was because of the stress, and the fact that I needed help with it from a friend. xD I am a fail wig maker...
As for the photos, the photos were taken by Sam Chua [link] while I was at the convention. I am pretty sure you have to have some camera knowledge to make something clear in the front and blurry in the background. I also think it's the lens of the camera you need. Sam had a MASSIVE lens when he took this picture, though I know regular cameras can take pictures like this too. It's all in the camera settings. xD
loool, DA is great because you get to meet a ton of different types of artists and talk with them! How often does one get to do that in real life? eh? xD ... I like staying at home and talking with hundreds of people across the world each day. =3 PLUS you deserved the llama, the watch, and the favorite - since you're such a fun person to talk to! 8) (and I liked the dib picture... it made me le happy.)

God wigs! I wanted to use my own hair but it's too short on top to make Dib's EPIC scythe thingy. Wigs are evil things. But I guess I have to use one AGAIN this year. Dernit. How did you make his scythe? I have no idea about wigs. Can you use hair product on them or did you just use glue? I vaguely remember someone mentioning glue.
LENS SIZE! IT ALL MAKES SENSE! Wait no. No it doesn't. My friend had someone take pictures for her Alice cosplay. I'll have to get a hold of her somehow. Or I could just read a shit ton of tutorials and try myself. Cameras, like wigs, are evil, icky things that make me very very sad. I'm going as Dib to a zombie gathering in my town this halloween.
