ayyy i can't sleep so i did a speedpaint of my dog

for fun, compare to this painting i did a little over six years ago of my old lab

which i stumbled upon while doing the improvement meme. wasn't what sparked this one really, but i thought it was kind of neat to see them side by side, i don't think the anatomy is particularly poor in the old one (not perfect but it's not awful either), but it's neat to see how much better i understand light/shading now vs then. sorry, i think this sounds a little like i'm jerking myself off about how much better my art is now vs six years ago, that's not the point, i just think it's kind of cool haha.

not overly thrilled with how his paws turned out, but eh, was intended to be a quick study that kind of escalated a little, and other than that i actually kind of like it. been doing mostly owed art recently or schoolwork so it's nice to just do something for myself for a change. also very proud of the fact that this was not directly drawn from a photo -- i referenced a couple different pictures of him and just kind of did my own thing and yeAH idk i kinda like it

title is from 'the more that i' by strong asian mothers, bc i am bad at titles. good song tho.
