Where I live on California's Central Coast, we don't often have large chunks of ice and hail coming down by the beach. But in 2023, we've had some highly unusual weather patterns and storms coming from the north and offshore. We've seen snow in lower elevations that we haven't seen in at least a decade. I wanted to capture the essence of hail as it comes down from the sky with a digital painting and custom acrylic brushes that were made with Adobe Photoshop.
