Both hedgehogs and skunks are relentlessly active and eat anything from insects to small mammals; minks are even more energetic and viciously carnivorous. According to wikipedia (so, you know, take with a grain of salt), skunks were even used and... tamed, maybe? by farmers in early America to control rodents in their barns.
